Recently discovered in ear monitors exist(IEM's)

Apparently I've been living under a rock and these seem to be ideal for me. Corded ear solution. Lol, I was considering bluetooth earbuds before.

Which iem do you have?

Those have been around forever and they basically dominate the high-end earbud market. Personally I hate them, they are annoying to put in correctly, give a "plugged up" feeling, and basically block out sound around you like earplugs. That and they are quite unsanitary, going in and out of the ear canal all the time with ear wax and sweat being a thing. That said a lot of people seem to like them, but I would definitely try it out on a cheap pair before spending money on something expensive.

Idk I just wanted something new and I don't have any good iems. Galaxy buds pro but that isn't really the same I just use those for portability.

They seemed interesting and I wanted to try a totally new audio company. These are a collaboration between an audio reviewer I watch and the company moondrop. They come with a special usb c cable with some pre loaded specifically tuned eq profiles from the reviewer. Pretty well reviewed for the most part. Just playing the waiting game for now.

I'm not sure which one to get out of these. I'm leaning towards the one on the right of this pic. I like how it looks the most at least. Blue aluminum looks sleek. I bet it sounds better than my Panasonic ergo fit earphones

Why are you looking at spending that much? Just get something decent that's cheap to see if you even like it. These in-ears aren't for everyone. Ones in the middle might not be a bad choice though.

Idk but I have a hidizs mp3 player and it's not bad. Would probably get seiishner or denon though that's what I like for headphones. I don't use IEMs except for Bose noise cancelling on the plane

I think you should just get some cheapos where you can keep them as a spare where they are cheap enough for you to not care about returning them. Then again feel free to go all out. I know returns can be weird with these since you have to stick them in your ears.

I am a slight audio snob

I've been using beyerdynamic dt990 pros since like 2012? Like a seriously long time now. Best cans I've ever owned.

I upgraded to beyerdynamic dt1990 pros. Love them. Insane sound. But not nearly as comfy as the older 990 version. So I just kept using the 990s for gaming, and the 1990s are just for music basically.

I can't find anything that is comfy enough to replace the legendarily comfy 990s.

I am hoping switching to a high quality iem is as comfy for longer sessions, and they will be easier to bring around if I want to listen to hifi audio when I travel

They arrived today. F'ing returning them asap. They aren't for me. My Koss Sportapro's are way more comfortable and sound better at 75 percent less cost.

Told ya. I always found in-ears to be uncomfortable and awkward to use. Some people love em, but it's not for me.

they sound good, only problem is I hate plugging my ears with headphones like that. then besides that you also need to find the right tips, the right tip size, and comfort. If not the sound you hear is a lot different then the sound someone else heard that gave it raving reviews. for example someone with IEM's that has ear tips that simply don't workout for their size ear will complain that the IEM have no bass what so ever, then another person will say these IEMs are too bassy.

on ear headphones don't really have that problem unless you got a weird ass shaped head


also the IEM is practically 70% chinese companies copying each other.

I like the simple old school earbuds. Easy to put on, relatively cheap, and if you get nice ones the sound quality is still good.
