I don't really know how the natty guard works but if your commander has policy backing her decisions then it's on you to make it work. If there are people with leave already approved then she'll have to justify bringing them in (at least in the active world). If you're just working off of handshakes that can be overturned by policy then you could be fukt

our commander is deployed as is the XO, 1st, Chief etc and me and my sup. had an agreement going where i fly in every other drill and chit was working out fine, then they deployed and now interim commander is pretending like we're children not knowing what the fuk we're doing.

she even walked in to our shop right around a desk and looked right on my laptop basically it was obvious asf she wanted to see what i had up which was an excel sheet to track who was in what month and what big ticket items were coming due like dental, pt test, PHA, PHAQ, MHA etc, and was on my laptop since my regular computer would not log in nor would another one in the shop. so fuk it let me do this real quick so she legit walked in, WHOOP right around my desk and laid her eyes right on my computer screen obvious as fuuuuuk it was eating her alive seeing what i was doing.

but me and my sup. who is deployed were talking and he agreed the troop from AZ could come in every other drill. and then our CC has a policy where you can request to makeup one drill within 30 days of it, just one per year, and then this major comes in and fukn does away with every bit of that and shes only here til November and acts like we're just showing up whenever.

meanwhile they keep harping on retainability and how their numbers are low. just LOL @ bitching about that then getting on me for trying to keep members in.

this major also ordered me to go to a certain section to get my CAC card checked when i knew right away that wasnt the right place she told me to go, so i did.... because my CC told me to..... and then when i got there they were like yeaaaa you were sent here by the major right.... yeaaaa..... you gotta go to the other section..... just like i knew.

next check if the whole flying in two months in a row for a lower ranking member is even consistent with higher policy, i seen it be only required once a quarter. idk if you are reserves or guard or what.

she said that "even she didnt approve a quarterly drill for members and all people have bosses" in an email directly to me who she CC'd 4 other ppl on lmao, when i didnt ask for a quarterly drill just that this E-2 fly in once for july and august and that the E-5 makeup june drill for 2 days when we're actually working on chit. but she was crystal clear - she wanted lower ranking E-2 member LEGIT just out of tech school 2 months ago, moved to arizona to be closer to his wifes family, to be here for drill in july AND august which are 3 weeks apart. like wut the fuk.

she was also like "E-2 troop only printed off two units of his training binder when there are five" like WTF youre calling out exactly how many trng units he printed off when theyre like 100 pages each and he has 1yr to do all five??

everyone at reserves/guard is there on their second job. that is different from saying they cant show up to your primary civilian job. the recruitment numbers are terrible right now, if you treat the people like chit or dont make reasonable accommodations they will simply quit. they dont make very much money doing it. If higher policy says they dont have to fly out of state every month then there is a reason for that.

exactly. they are not natural leaders of men. they may be able to lead other women and there is the outlier that somehow can naturally lead men, but a key component of leading men is they need to naturally defer to a leader/alpha. most men will do this around a true leader without any reservation (i.e. if a young MJ joined your bb team, you would defer to him as you realize hes the "alpha" and you need to follow him).

men naturally do not do this to women. its not in our nature to defer/yield to them and their authority is mainly due to the military rank, not any sort of natural dominance hierarchy.

but i tell you what...... the "commander" CC'd 4 ppl when she jumped my ass about "setting the example as the NCO about using proper drill makeup forms" OK, well i did some digging and ill be damned if i didnt already turn that in over two months ago, so because she CC'd 4 other ppl in that email chastising me, you bet ur ass i CC'd those 4ppl back WITH the email i sent from March WITH the correct form showing i had requested it.

bottom line is if you're a fill in "commander" then you'd ought not assume this or that. she assumed i hadnt turned in chit (just LOL @ fgt ironmanlet once more acting like it was a handshake), and thus made herself look like an ass.

but guess what. Im done. period. turning in my retirement paperwork in a very short amt of time.
