I am sure I will get negged for my rant here but the Dutch (government) are as hypocrit as anyone can get. When it comes to human rights in other countries they're one of the first to jap about it without even knowing what's going on, but when the time comes to look at their own history they just 'ignore' it. The only reason that they don't officialy apoligize for it (as in the prime minister, in name of the Dutch government etc) is because they're scared that the lawsuits filed against them will have more impact when it comes to money.

They did nothing in Bosnia because they were overpowered and just stood and handed everyone over to the Serbs. Even though I find that disgusting I can still understand it in some point; however they also expelled two (or three) Bosnian men that were working for the Dutch as electrians, knowing that they would probably die. Instead of accepting atleast this 'little' case they ignored it. Recently, the family/widows of these men won a legal case where the judge said they were right. First thing that happened was is that it was decided to appeal(?) in the hope that the decision will be different next time. Just go on youtube and search for Karremans and mladic..

They plundered the world, colonized and enslaved whoever they could and called it 'the golden century', this doesn't even annoy me as it is a good part of their history but what does annoy me; is the fact that a prime minister advocades it in a good way and uses it as a argument; saying that the voc mentality was good etc, how the hell can a politician not know anything about PR and international relationships with other countries?

When it comes to Dutchbat and Bosnia; for the love of god, just watching this video makes me cringe and I'm not even a Dutch or anything (just happen to live here).

Gezien je kennis over Balkenende z'n uitspraken neem ik aan dat je Nederlands bent;

In naam van de Nederlandse staat/overheid, dan maakt het niet uit wie het doet of wanneer het gebeurt is. Gaat meer om het feit dat je die slachtoffers dan aan kunt tonen dat het je echt aangaat etc, nu worden ze afgescheept met een schamele vergoeding en excuses van een of andere ambassadeur per brief(!). Wat voor signaal geef je dan af aan ze? Wat voor signaal geef je af aan de wereld? En dat gaat alleen over Indonesië, Bosnië zelf blijft een heel debacle.

Daar geef ik de soldaten/Karremans deels de schuld, het andere deel komt door de falende Nederlandse politiek zoals we die hedendaags nog steeds zien. Namelijk praten, debatteren en alle belangrijke beslissingen voor zich uitschuiven in de hoop dat iemand anders ze maakt. Als je besluit om mee te doen en er soldaten heen te sturen, waarom dan niet GOED zoals het soldaten betaamt en niet op een halfslachtige manier? Verder werden bewapende Bosniërs bevolen om hun wapens af te geven, omdat de Nederlanders/de VN ze wel zou beschermen. Verder vind ik het laf gezien de Bosniërs ondanks al hun tekortkomingen alles gaven om hun land/volk te beschermen terwijl de Nederlanders het veel te snel voor gezien hielden. Nu zal er vast iemand zijn die zegt van; ja hallo waarom zouden ze sterven voor Bosnië? maar dat gaat imo niet op, je bent een (beroeps)soldaat en je moet imo alles geven.

Als je alleen al bedenkt dat ons geweldige kabinet ervoor koos om mee te doen in Afghanistan, maar het zonder geweld moest (in een regio die decennia lang geteisterd word door oorlogen) en de Nederlanders ipv actief mee te doen maar even agenten moesten opleiden. En toen mochten die agenten ook niet ingezet worden in gevaarlijke regio's of in gevechtshandelingen. Ja gvd, wat wil je dan? Ze leren hoe ze parkeerboetes moeten uitgeven zoals hun geweldige collega's hier? Gevechtshandelingen uitgevoerd door het Nederlands leger ten tijde van controles/patrouilles etc is vast en zeker gebeurd (+ die F16's die actief waren) maar waarom gooien ze bv niet de mariniers erin (echt met de beuk á la Duitsland/Engeland/Turkije)? Of de KCT oid?
