Accidentally ran a marathon with covid

As per title

I did intend to run the marathon, but didn't realise I had covid. Thought I was just dehydrated and that's why I had such a bad headache

Then I felt really tired at about 20km in, and I thought i mustn't have recovered properly from my last ultra (50km a month ago)

Was really mad at myself cos I had to slow down to a 7min per km pace, just to keep moving (slow jog) I actually really wanted to stop but figured at least if I jogged it, I'd finish faster than walking.

Next day I felt absolutely stuffed, but thought I was just tired from running, but my boss told me to go home and take a covid test... So I did and it tested positive straight away

I don't feel great tbh, but I definitely don't feel like I'm dying.... Still don't think it was worth shutting the whole world down over lol.

You shouldnt post on misc with covid because u might infect us, as covid can travel inside 5G.

Originally was aiming to do about 4:15 - so just over a 6 minute pace . I'm a girl remember so not as fast as boy runners

Ended up finishing in just over 4:40 so I think I probably could've done it if I was well. Hard to judge. Maybe I'm just making up excuses for myself.

I'm not going to run for a few days at least. We're meant to be flying to Singapore this weekend so trying to get all better beforehand, I don't want to be spreading germs if there's old people on the plane.

Thanks, yeah everything was hurting real bad by the halfway mark. I kept thinking of Courteney and how she talks about the pain cave, but it just seemed insane to be experiencing it on a flat road run!

My boss told me to go home and test, I had an appointment with a client who has cancer this week so yeah.... That got switched to a phone call instead.

Kinda nice to have an excuse to stay home for a few days to be honest.

You'll get well soon, but when it comes to exercise take it extremely easy. Like you should only be walking that first month after you're well, then ramp back up.

Yeah a whole month is a bloody long time..

I might take it easy though. Like I said I'm off to Singapore so we'll be doing lots of walking there, and 39 degree heat (Celsius )isn't really great for running in anyway

And then Thailand, and our resort there has free yoga and Muay Thai classes so might just take it easy on the running til we get home. My boyfriend will probably nag me if he thinks I'm overdoing it anyway
