... I wonder if there is anything here? A Vita/PSP successor or something to just stream and play PS4 games? Possibly making specific titles for this itself (that did not work last time w/ Vita and PS4)?
What would people like to see? What do you expect?
I would be curious to see something that stood on it's own yet somehow tied directly into the PS5-6 somehow. A device you could own and use but maybe also being able to steam and/or use it as a controller w/ your PS console.

New Sony Handheld (not Portal)

1. Lack of support
2. Proprietary memory cards, costing nearly as much as the unit itself and completely unnecessary/greedy
3. Proprietary ****ing chargers, also unnecessary and inconvenient
These 3 things doomed what could have been one of the best handhelds ever, although there seems to be a curse in gaming, whenever there is something super successful (psp, nintendo wii, etc) the successor ends up being doomed somehow. Sometimes even when it's better (like the Vita or WiiU). I own two Vitas, the OG OLED and a Japanese 2cnd gen, both are/were pretty great. That OLED especially, damn that screen holds up 10 years later. Haven't turned it on in 5+ years, no idea if it even does.
I would also rate this above journalism clickbait. Speculative? Sure, but he's looking at patents and job openings by Sony, there is probably something here beyond some of the trash journos who just make wild speculations (like we're seeing with the Switch 2)All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Nah I'm good.
We saw what happened with the PSVR2.
Sony can't even make enough games for the main console as it stands, how are they gonna make games for a handheld?▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

sony is a google of the console market
they make other devices and abandon them. PSVita SHOULD have been a hit, it was an amazing handheld for the time. OLED screen before OLEDs were even mainstream, powerful and a great successor to the PSP... only sony aka google could fumble that bag.*** Free Thinker Crew ***

What they are probably gonna do is what they should of done with the portal. Its gonna be a portable PS4 using all your same games and accounts. they might not even bother making games for this and just make it compatible with all PS4 games and vice versa. Dont know how well it will do but i might buy one

It's an idea but I don't know how I feel about buying a new handheld that will only play old PS4 games. Eventually you'll run out.
I'd want something that has some future potential....and that's what the Steam Deck 2 will have. Even a Steam Deck 1 with a price drop will give you access to more games than a PS handheld.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
