And from '93, just for fun. "Rodman puts clamps on Shaq"

to me, the best playoff teams of all time go:
1: 17 warriors - honestly you can't match up against them. they would run prime shaq off the floor and simple play that ridiculous lineup with steph, klay, green, KD, your grandma
2a/b: 01 lakers/95 bulls
4: 13 heat - basically a better version of the 2016 cavs with more playmakers and more veterans
i'm not going to comment on the lakers and celtics teams in the 80s. they have their place in history just like the celtics teams of the 60s but the sport was completely different back then. the 90s are at least somewhat comparable to now.i like my chicks in twos

How does he have better moves than Jordan when he copied them from Jordan?
I'm pretty sure that Rodman would get into Shaq's head and at least bother him enough to do some stupid chit but even without it, who cares if Shaq can do whatever he wants when nobody else can score cause Pippen/Jordan lock them down?
17 Warriors with Durant, maybe. 16? Not even a contest. Lakers sweep, Bulls win in 3Ragnar Lothbrok crew

This argument with "how can he be better when he copied ..." is mind-boggling dumb. As if the game didn't evolve. As if Kobe didn't copy Jordan to shortcut his learning curve and then add on top of it. Kobe had Jordan-level footwork down and then refined it, just as players try to do with Kobe's footwork today and I am sure eventually someone will surpass him in that area as well.
Kobe's footwork was always his most underrated asset and is second to none. The reason why people bring up Hakeem is because his impressive footwork is even more impressive because of his height/size.Banging in Hong Kong 2017, Europe Roadtrip 2018, planned: Mt. The man wanted to see some Shaq vs. Worm and that was really the most high-profile, closest to each individuals prime match-up that we have and gives us the best glimpse of what could have been. Rodman couldn't have locked up '96 Shaq, but he could play some really incredible defense on him and give him some problems.

Ya'll love to discredit the '16 warrior's just because they aren't an older team. If you think any of those teams you listed can keep up with all the 3's GSW would be draining, you're crazy. '01 lakers can score all the points they want in the paint with shaq, those 2 pts aren't going to amount up to enough.

Do you realize how silly it is to compare the 01-Lakers with the 16-Warriors or any other team that plays in different eras?
What people do is:
1. How did Team A dominate their era and how much success did they have?
2. How did Team B dominate their era and how much success did they have?
3. Decide between the dominance and success within their respective era/leagues.
In todays game no one would structure a Bulls team the way they did in 1995 for example, and no one would structure a Lakers team the way they did 20 years ago. You claim people are discrediting the 16-Warriors, yet you act as if the teams of the past should have anticipated the rise of the 3-ball and positionless basketball for some reason.
Last year - and I don't care enough to find it - I posted the statistical comparison of all teams including the last playoffs and the 01-Lakers had the toughest overall road in correlation to dominance (W-L during playoffs). The numbers don't lie and the stats (like SRS) are relative to the current league strength.
Edit: looked it up and forgot that there was one team with a higher SRS, Hakeems 95 Rockets
Ignore the Kobe/Jordan/LBJ stuff, the thread last year had a bit of a different context.Last edited by GotNext; 02-13-2018 at 04:33 AM.

The 17 Warriors would crush them all. Especially when you factor in their ability to injure the best players on the other team. Of course the 01 Lakers had that ability too, but no way the Bulls win with Pippen or Jordan injured. That's the secret to the Warriors and Lakers dynasties. They do some voodoo on their opponents.
What's crazy is that Jerry West built both of those dynasties.
