    Sooooo Hungry without my Ozempic

Ozempic was on backorder for the past 3 weeks, plus I was traveling, so I got SO hungry!

This is so wrong that a drug has to keep our weight down. My Dad takes Trulicity and his went on backorder so he was eating twice as much food and freaking out as it's hard for him to go grocery shopping as he's disabled.

I take it to offset 5 anxiety medications which I take that increase appetite, according to my Dr. I'm slowly weaning off of them but the worst for increasing appetite, cholesterol and diabetes, Abilify, has put me in the ER twice to get off of it as I can't swallow and choke.

How do you guys stay disciplined at night when you wake up starving?? I'm so freaked out about this weight gain. Luckily the Ozempic came in so I'm not that hungry today, but I still have to watch my protein as Ozempic is muscle wasting and I'm not hungry now, don't want to force food in, but I need more protein.

It’s constant struggle TBH. I wish I could be on ozempic. I hate to be always hungry and craving junk. Not so much even because of weight gain only but thinking about all the poison I put in, processed seed oils, grains, sugars etc. that gon give me diabetes, heart disease, early death.
I’d like to microdose it though, just to help a little bit.

The problem is that it always has shortages so when the happens you are literally starving and eat so much more than you normally would.

Yeah things like dyes and high fructose corn syrup make me nervous. I shop at Whole Foods but even there you can grab a cookie.

I'm FINALLY moving into my own place so at least I won't have my ex's chips and crackers laying around for when I'm hungry late at night. I only buy healthy food. The problem is there is a bakery across the street!

Dusty--no, no. Luckily it is expensive!

Never had an issue like this, never understood this stuff.. until... I hit mid to late 40s now my appetite is way larger than anything I could possibly need.

Don't know if this is the same for you but I can only work with 2 modes.

    1) poorly controlled constant small snacking. "Grazing" or"mindless snacking" are other names for it, you sort of don't realise you're doing it and lose track of how much. This makes me way more hungry

    2) NO snacks, period. 100% strict, no icecream, no puddings no chocolate, very restrained alcohol. The only exception
is if I am away on a trip or doing an activity for a day then I'll eat between dives (for example, to keep warm), I don't get out as often as I'd like so that's not common enough to makes much difference
100% strict is really really tough for me, but once I get into the third day it's manageable and after a week it's not difficult. Just I have to break the first 3 days, then keep on the bandwagon for another 3 or 4 days, then all is good

I can only do 1) or 2). Any attempt in the middle with more "normal" regulated eating will fail.

I say ditch drugs and try 100% strict, no snacks no deserts. It might be hell for the first few days (ha ha it WILL be hell) but it might actually be easier than the alternatives, you only have to get a few days and it'll gradually get easier a d easier

Just remind yourself about the possible link between modern appetite suppressant drugs and increased risk of thyroid cancer. Give it a go!

Obviously... Your mileage will vary!! This post might be patronising and useless advice, that's what internet forums get you .

    Good luck, stay healthy.

That's the problem I have as I started competing in tennis matches again. My Apple Watch says I burn 1,000 calories in 3 hours of playing but then I'm as hungry as a horse but then cannot walk the next day so I'm sure I ate whatever I burned plus moar.

Why drives me crazy about menopause is that you store the fat in your stomach. It wasn't like that in my 20s.

Well the problem is I take all of these anti-depressant and anti-anxiety meds that make me super hungry and tired all of the time. I just tried to wean from the worst one and it put me in the ER twice as coming off of it gave me such dry mouth that I was choking on my food and then it got to the point where I couldn't swallow saliva so I was in misery. Thus the Dr. put the dose back up.

I've been slowly weaning off of one other V drug from 20mg to 5mg but put that on hold to get off of the A drug above.

I am doing yoga and meditation and they seem to finally help with my anxiety.

The snacking gets me at night as I have very little appetite during the day but starving at night, so I try to force in more protein during the day.

I had a great day yesterday!!!!!! I ate 1600 calories even though I burned 300 calories exercising. It helps that my ex isn't here so his food is gone.

In a week I'll have my own place so I won't worry about the junk food he buys. I swear he does it on purpose to keep me overweight .

I heard menopause makes women’s bodies look like men. lol that’s amazing I’m looking forward to it. I always store fat in my belly anyways so I’m just thrilled to know it’s going to get worse.

Yeah the female hormones go down and I started getting fine hair on my cheeks and my skin is breaking out, so my dermatologist may put me on a testosterone blocker next week.

Oh joy just what I need--another med!

You’re not building muscle mass playing tennis. I thought this was bodybuilding related.

And I didn’t word my post correctly, I should have said train like a horsecoc, meaning eat like a horse and horsecoc weights.

The lifting world has become full of stuff that doesn’t produce gains.

Appetites are needed 100percent. Even if I have to lift lights which I’m dong now because I’m hurt, I horsecoc it. See my Jefferson lift vid. There is no putting the weight down slowly and risking fuking up my back more, NO horsecoc the concentric and drop it, repeat. This is how to continue gains, the chemicals released there are far more effective than 3 hours of burning calories.

I’m still working on my own weight loss, but drug free, and have started to keep meal replacement drinks both in a spare fridge upstairs at home for breakfast while getting ready for work as well as snacking if I get hungry in the middle of the night. I even keep a box in my trunk for when I’m leaving the gym for the night. I normally buy the Walmart brand French vanilla as its only $14 for a case of 12, has 10 grams of protein per bottle and is 180cal per bottle vs 190 for the chocolate and strawberry.

Why wouldn’t you just take protein? That sounds really bad, prolly a lot of sugar and who knows what else.

My best friend is on it for diabetic tendencies, and he acknowledges that he loves food so for him(295lbs) he said it makes him feel a little nausea.
For this reason he eats a little less but it has not been a real weight loss tool after 2 months.

The answer is to only buy the healthy foods that should be in your diet. Why do you even have snacks in your kitchen? Wake up at night and want to eat it is right there.

I like candy but only buy one bag and give it to my drycleaner to dole out 3-4 pieces each time I pick up or drop off. Workers in the back call me the Candyman because I leave some for them too. If I had that bag of candy in my kitchen then it would stand about as much chance as a Chihuahua surviving a night surrounded by lions and hyenas.

It's like if I wanted to be abstinent, I wouldn't want to have a beautiful girl walking around my house in a thong. You've already lost the battle when you put the foods you shouldn't eat in your kitchen.

I'm not a lean guy myself, so I'm not going offer advice on how to get there -- I will say that the advice here holds true for me though. If there are snacks in the house, I will 100% eat them which is why I never buy them. My inherent laziness works in my favor here -- If I am craving something and it isn't readily available, I won't go through the trouble of going to the store to get it.

I've been doing low carb and intermittent fasting since last summer.

2 meals a day M-F and OMAD on weekends.

No pasta, no bread, no rice, no potatoes; mostly meat, eggs, and veggies.

Lost 30ish lbs and keeping it off and it's not a chore and i rarely feel hungry.

Cheat meals very rarely on special occasions.

I really don't miss carbs at all.

The problem for me is that anything that tastes good to me which is put in my kitchen is always devoured first. For this reason, each and every day right after the gym, I buy only what I want to eat that day. Self employed and my employees do all the work, so daily visits to the grocery store are not a problem.

Another benefit of going to the grocery store so often is that frequently there is a female who is next behind me. I have a whole routine which I do with any female but stop right before asking for the number unless I am attracted to her. Frequent practice has given me a degree in Quantum Rizzics.

LOL A general day of eating for me is this, best gains in 25 years of lifting-

    Morning-
Banana and cliff bar or nature valley bars smothered in natty PB

    Early afternoon-
Dave’s bagels or Dave’s breads with or without PB

    Lunch
Chicken salad or eggs, more Dave’s bread.

    Afternoon-
Mixed nuts trail mixes, fig bars

    Pre workout-
    More Dave’s bread with PB

    Honey during training

    Dinner-
    Whatever the frick we got!

Occasionally a can of tuna after 11pm.

The so-called cheat foods are the best foods to eat before blasting and pumping up your muscles.

Today I ate a big white wrap with eggs, sausage, cheese, guacamole, salsa and then did a 40rep set of curls with the EZ bar with 80+ pounds.

BTW, one the best built guys on here AJ says he EATS! Big appetite, but look at that dudes journal too.

I did those back when I was in college but the problem with those is that they are so low calorie that I ended up gaining the weight back when I went back to real food.

Same with Jenny Craig--I lost 30 lbs but gained it back after I stopped eating their low-cal food.

Ozempic definitely makes you nauseous. I have anti-nausea medication (great, another drug) because sometimes the nausea will hit me like a truck. Bad constipation as well, but I was on an Ozempic subreddit and some people had HORRIBLE side effects. They mostly lost weight because they were vomiting nonstop. Yuck.

I will have this in a week!

I was living with my estranged husband and he buys junk food. He's one of those naturally skinny people. I asked him to hide it but he refuses. So I move out in a week and THEN I will only have healthy food in my house. I can't wait.

Did you go through carb withdrawals at first?

My new trainer has me eating low glycemic carbs like brown rice and Ezekial bread. I honestly don't overeat those as they aren't too tasty, lol, but give me some fresh sourdough and butter and it's over.

You ask women for their numbers in the grocery store? Wow. I haven't had guys do that since my 20s lol.

Europeans shop daily and their food is so fresh and delicious. They learn to savor their food and always eat fresh and wholesome.

Yeah just what I thought..vegetable oils and sugars and who knows what all those ingredients are.

I hate that everything we eat now is ultra processed and made to kill us, even the things that are supposed to be “healthy”.

I'm not into most of them, so mostly no. Here's an example - yesterday there was a woman going in the opposite direction in the grocery aisle and her phone rang but she didn't answer it. We made eye contact and both of us smiled.

She was then exiting the store right behind me. I said 'you should have answered your phone because someone at home wanted you to get them something'.

She followed me down the escalator and said: 'No, there's no one calling me for that. i'm not married and I live alone'.

I didn't turn around or say anything else because I wasn't into her.

I would never buy or drink that. Not even that healthy. You can spend less and make a protein drink that is more healthy.

As a starter, 2% or whole milk, couple tbs peanut butter, some whole oats, banana, little honey for taste. Delicious.

No oils and no fructose and no unknown ingredients and no plastic container.

Compared to PaulJ, I am a woman.

    Paul is 6’4, I’m 5’9 at best.

Some of us need to go against the grain. With work and Paul’s genes I bet he fills out shirts easy.

Small frame guys don’t fill out as well on strictness and discipline.

I'm the same way. That's why living with people who can eat whatever and stay thin is extremely irritating lol.

But then again I wanted his genetics, hence why we procreated, but daughter is annoyed that she got my metabolism , although she is still quite slim, but she doesn't eat enough.

What age did everyone's metabolism slow down?

I'm 45 and still lean, have no trouble with weight, eat horribly and workout maybe once a week.
