Completely untrue. Games today have objectives, requirements and goals far harder than anything I played from the 80s and 90s.

Beating RE4 remake with S+ on the hardest difficulty made most 90s games look like a cakewalk. Have you actually attempted any of the challenging games made in the last 3 years?

Sekiro I didn't even get to the first boss and gave up. It was just way too taxing to learn the parry system and annoying as hell dying all the time.

Difference between games from times like SNES was you didn't have saves, so games like Ghosts and Goblins you had to get through the whole thing in one sitting, which made it almost impossible.

I also gave up on Sekiro, but I discovered I was playing it the wrong way, I don't know if I want to give it another shot though. I saw female gamers beat it, and I'm dumbfounded.

Jurrasic park for snes was the only game I have that I didn't beat. I could have but it just sucked too bad. I couldn't stand playing it.

Forgot to answer-no, I haven’t played a game I have not been able to do well on (or complete) with enough time, from Atari onwards. And I’m big on vintage games. Also, I avoided Dark Souls type games, knowing that I didn’t have enough time or skill to get close to what other people do. God of War 4-5 and RE 4 were my most recent.

Dude come on, today it is follow the loud beeping icon, x-ray vision of all enemies, hints galore, literally have to figure nothing out, dumb AI that 90% of the time doesn't even engage and you can speed run the levels. There is no challenge in 99% of games today

I always wanted the Genesis add-on but never got it , because then I was into Sega Saturn, and the Game Gear.

Beating a game today isn’t about beating it, it’s competitive gaming. The higher difficulties and ranks come with ridiculously difficult conditions and limitations. It’s in another universe from just winning, and you compete globally for scores. No contest, games today are more challenging, if you seek out a challenge.

That and the networking in those games, it was too much time and effort. You beat up the wrong player and find out it’s an alt for some player than runs a guild, allied with other guilds, and their mains are all gunning for you wherever you go.

So many pvp games out there (especially fps) are just a waste of time. People take advantage of the frame rates their pc’s can handle, macros they can program into mouse and keyboards, modified hardware, and legit straight modding the game. I realized it pretty fast and noped out. It’s like walking into a gun fight with a plastic spoon. The spoon will end up in your angus in 10 minutes.
