Talk. A lot. Get them talking. About anything. No silence. Whatsoever. I do this to get over my own anxieties. Silence makes me nervous as hell. Could only image how it'd feel to someone on the other side of the camera. Unless they're a pro. Music helps to lead conversation. Start "air drumming" mid shoot. F*ck it! I'm usually drunk, though...

Well this explains a lot.
In any event, I'm one of the few souls that can sit for hours completely silent. I'd much rather that than small talk which I find irritating. Music on the other hand, is an excellent idea. As long as its satisfies the talent's taste. And not too bizarre.🎥

Always have music on for shoots. Before I'll ask the model if there's anything in particular she likes, if not I'll just put on a spotify pop station or something upbeat. And yeah talk a lot, just small talk bs is fine. I've had conversations about game of thrones, immigration, the bears, breaking bad, public transportation, etc with playboy models.

hahaa yea we had music on which relaxed things, we had a mess around doing the standard girl poses on a night out e.g. duck face which got us laughing. I'm not sure if air guitar is my style but you never know!
on another note. my pictures are in one of the pictures on the Laura ashley site which is cool

Getting really tired of ******** butchering my photos. The difference between what I see on my retina display and what I see on my regular LCD at work after ******** compresses it... ugh.

I use PNG for just about everything in my professional work, love that format although it can be a little heftier.

I tried the PNG trick a while back and it didn't make any difference. I think ******** even recommends it but it didn't do anything.

Forgot to share some recent shots.
First one hurts to see, but strangely find it helps a bit. Wife and I had to put our dog down after he suffered a massive seizure and had rapid onset canine cognitive disorder, this was shot while we spent our last day with him before taking him in.
This is from yesterday, an after-shoot of a bride and her bridesmaids.

I dig this one, what does the color look like? I have been wanting to take some B&W shots, but I find color almost always makes it a better shot. Any tips?
I have no pity for you, Upload a smaller size and link to an external photoshare/ordering site.
Sorry bout your dog bro, rough stuff, feel like sharing photos of the mutt?

The biggest difference between color and b&w photography is how you deal with contrast. In B&W, some colors look very similiar or even identical, so when converting a color to B&W, it may look flat. There are several ways to deal with B&W contrast in light room, so just keep in mind contrast. Since BW contrast is heavily dependent on color contrast, temp and tint is something you want to pay attention to.
My work flow after basic flow,
Convert to BW.
Adjust Temp
Adjust saturation of specific colors
... decreasing blue will increase the contrast between clouds and the sky.
... adjusting yellows will create contrast in stone
... adjusting greens will create contrast in different trees
... adjusting oranges and reds will create contrast in a brilliant sky
Spot adjust
Dodge and burn if needed to improve contrast.
Still learning myself and trying to nail bw.
(at work so can't upload color version now)
Thank you. I really like the lens, and I actually like the manual aperture of the rokinon as well. I took some close ups but didn't like them as much.
