They don't look aftermarket, must have just been an option you could add or a slightly different model. With a little customizing I think I could get my 'Mech' Pendlay mono's to work with this rack, all I would need to do is drill a 1" hole through the uprights and get a 1" locking pin to slide through. I mainly use the Mono's for squatting so it would just be four (4) holes, then I could shim with UHMW to get them tight. Doesn't really matter though, I'm find with benching off regular j-hooks so no biggie
Edit: I read that too fast. YES, the band pegs (not weight pegs) are aftermarket. They did a pretty decent job on them, the ends need capped but they spaced them out pretty well. Honestly I'll probably never use them, lifting with bands/chains doesn't really interest me at all.Last edited by urbanlifter; 05-07-2018 at 06:33 AM.

I told my wife I wanted at least $1200 for this rack, and that I'm not accepting a penny less. With the current state of my CL area I expect it would sit indefinitely. Heck, just an hour north OSU has a Legend half rack for $600, and two FULL EliteFTS 3x3 racks going for $700 a piece! So, if someone called wanting to pay my full asking price I would be forced to take it.

As an aside you should try band benching for 3-4 weeks then swap back and work on your regular bench (or just maintenance regular bench for the period). You'll see a dramatic improvement in bar speed and have an "ah ha" moment. That said for a lot of people just increasing lifts is the most straightforward way to progression and this is unnecessary complexity. Still a good experience to get the feel for it though. Just don't do too much band tension at first...can really tear you up.

Hmm.. it doens't look like the zinc. Their zinc has a more silver look to it. It looks like either bare steel or nickel.. Their Nickel plating is very durable and has a gold-ish tone compared to bare steel or stainless. I'm just surprised to see rust on the nickel coating (their most durable coating), unless it just wasn't cared for at all..

I think you have had one before but how you like that curl bar? My cheap cap is ceased in the sleeve againand I'm sick of hitting it with a hammer. the sleeve was machined crooked and every once in a while it will bind in the high spott and meed massaged to start spinning again. If I spend any amount of money I'd probably buy something rackable but my gym is picking up ever more rogue items so its on my list.

I still have a boneyard rogue curl bar. It's a very good bar. I had a Body Solid one before that (hex bolt ends, sloppy sleeve play) and wanted something better. I also wanted something with a relatively even weight...the Rogue is 30lbs. If you go on Amazon, you'll find curl bars that are 12lbs, 18lbs, etc. I'm not getting out a calculator to add those up!
I think the Rogue is a little light on the knurl with the e-coat. Someone (thejosef?) has a bare steel Rogue curl bar...I'm betting that would be awesome.
I've also owned a rackable Troy GOZ-74B 6' curl bar. That knurl was too rough for a curl bar. Very pointy and not a sophisticated knurl.
I wanted a shorter curl bar too...I have the Nebula skullcrusher bench and I leave my bar permanently loaded with plates and in there. From there, I do skullcrushers, curls, etc. Rackable one would be way too big for me. But I can understand why someone would want one when working with it in a power rack.
All in all, it's a very good bar, super solid, knurl a little light...but $200 for a curl bar? Yikes. Even paying $165 on the boneyard was tough...kind of an impulse purchase.Garage Gym Owner

Which CAP did you have? I have the Deluxe curl bar (30lbs, 30mm, medium knurl, hex bolt) and it's been a really good curl/tricep bar for around $120. I do sometimes wish it was rackable but I can make due without, the USA Sports bar is now $199 on Amazon which seems a little steep. I wish Xmark would make their Convict bar 30mm, I tried their shorter bar and that 28mm was not a comfortable bar to work with.

Yeah, I think MGM is right.. if it was bare steel, it would look much worse overall. Bench, so it looks like that Duffalo is Electroless Nickel (their best finish). They probably just left chalk in the grip area and rust developed there. It'll probably clean up.. Nice pickup!

Interested in your thoughts on the Cybex piece. I'd love to add some additional machines to my gym - but Hammer Strength takes up a lot of space. It looks like the Cybex pieces are smaller and I've been eyeing their converging pieces for awhile, but I haven't had a chance to try any out.

I really like them. I have 5 plate loaded cybex pieces that I'm keeping (7 in total at the moment). For at least the converging pieces, the advantages over Hammer are adjustability of start position (for the chest press and incline press), footprint, price and ease of pickup/transport. I have converging chest, converging overhead, advanced incline, kneeling leg curl and leg extension. I have put a ramp on my truck and dollied them right off. Super easy. For the plate loaded leg curl, I picked it up off my truck and put it on the ground as it's only 180lbs or so. The hammer pieces are 350lbs+ usually.
I'm pretty happy with cybex pushing pieces and hammer pulling pieces. I used to have the Hammer Bench Press and the Hammer Front Military Press, but I wasn't a huge fan of either. I like chest pieces to get a deep stretch and the Hammer bench just bottomed out all the time. There's no adjustability. Very frustrating...there were not cheap pieces either. The cybex converging overhead only has seat adjustments (which is really all that is necessary since the pushing plane is the same as the seat adjustment plane), but the chest press and incline press have 5 settings for how deep of a stretch you get.
I have the advanced incline, but I'd like to replace it with a converging incline once I find one. The advanced pieces are dual axis...so you can control how much convergence/divergence there is. That sounds good in theory like dumbbells...but it really limits how much weight you can use. There's also a few quirks with my advanced incline too.
In addition to the advanced and converging, there's also ones called just "plate loaded." Like David Feather has a Cybex Plate Loaded Shoulder Press with dual handles. I'd love to try that one out - dual handles like the Nebula version, fixed path, looks really cool.Garage Gym Owner

I'm contemplating reconfiguring some of my equipment in an effort to free up a little more room, I have to move everything to install a new rolled rubber floor, so now appears to be an opportune time. I love my Hammer machines, but due to the bulky nature of the HS units, trying to establish a working footprint for each piece isn't easy.

Well, she is a looker! Went with Krylon Semi-Gloss Black (better pics soon), didn't get some areas as smoothed out as I normally would but I think it's a bang up job for only two days work! I have UHMW on order to tighten up the tolerances on the J-hooks and protect my TPB, and some rubber endcaps for the weight pegs that were missing them.
