Sadly, it won't even matter anymore. Or, maybe not sadly. Depends on your perspective.

The future is coming. At first it will be cloud based so require an internet connection. Then someday soon it will be available offline. i.e. having a convo withs omeone overseas and your phone is listening and translating real time.
Interesting choice. Any particular reason or just because you like it?

So you think if someone has a bad bye week they should be forced to do damage to their roster, possibly irreparably, by dropping/adding until they can fill the team roster for the week?
What's the logic here? Force people to draft with full knowledge of bye weeks, such that they do not draft too heavily on a specific team or teams which align with the bye weeks? All Hail the Ultimate Master, "I Know More Than The Generals Do", Donald Camacho Dr. Pepper X-Ray AR-15 Trump

That's a strategy some people take. Pick a bye week, load up on it, be 'full strength' (barring injuries and what not) for every week but the one, instead of losing a starter this week, a starter that week, two starters another week, etc. Nothing wrong with that at all. Week 9 was a popular one for that this year.
And, of course, no matter how much thought you put into your draft...your roster in week 10 isn't going to look the same as it did in the pre-season.
Which brings us back to:

With how much you know about FF I'm surprised you thought this was a rule. I'm not aware of any format where a team manager is forced into such a situation. Maybe it was a bylaw in one of your previous leagues?
Aye I figured as much, just (with this being my second go-around) wasn't 100% sure re: this potential rule. All Hail the Ultimate Master, "I Know More Than The Generals Do", Donald Camacho Dr. Pepper X-Ray AR-15 Trump

I have heard of leagues where you auto-forfeit the matchup if you don't field a complete roster. It is not common and, IMO, a dumb.
I'm not sure why we are still discussing it, seeing how, near as we can tell, 91.67% of the league does not think it should be a rule.
And even if it was a rule, ala some of the other (dumb) leagues that are out there...nothing would change because he lost anyway.

Yep, different strokes for different folks. Many people I know don't want to be crippled entirely one week. My best friend would much rather have the majority of his byes occur on a single week, so if nothing else, he knows he'll probably lose one week, but have the best chance on the others.

Next year you are going to have a special rule that requires any transactions you make (trades, adds/drops) to involve the same position and bye week. As in, if you want to pick up a RB who has a week 7 bye, you will only be allowed to do so if you drop a RB who has a week 7 bye.

Also, I imagine being forced to field a full team would ultimately make it more competitive i.e. having to cut/trade people, how you draft, etc. Or not, since most start a full team anyway and icebox could have easily fielded a full team.

It's your roster, I think you should be able to do whatever you want with it. I don't even know why there's a limit to the number of weekly moves you can make.

In football, I don't think it matters as much, but it also keeps people from manipulating the waiver wire, by adding and dropping a ton of guys to re-instate the waiver period to prevent others from making a transaction in time.
In baseball, it is a key thing, IMO, as people will stream pitchers to pad stats.-

Because Orlando (two years ago)
He basically did that.
ALSO: A weekly limit as well as a total limit helps to curb the potential practice of picking up a bunch of flyers/handcuffs who play at 1:00...and then just before the 4:25 games you drop all of them (assuming none 'hit' or had the starter get injured, etc) and replace them with flyers/handcuffs who play at 4:25....rinse and repeat as much as you can for the SNF game and MNF game. And of course do it for Thur as well. Since sites like Yahoo let you drop players who have already started and played, so long as they were on your bench, you could really do quite a lot of this so long as you had the bench spots for players you are not married to
