This.
I'm not overly happy (I wanted a tory minority until Ignatieff was replaced by someone who wasn't such a tool), but I can deal. I'm REALLY against tough on crime/minimum sentencing though, so we'll see how this plays out.
Ya, 40% of the popular vote god 55% [100%] of the seats. Democracy
I don't understand why we always fail on changing FPTP. Canadians can be pretty dumb sometimes.** I rape back 1k+**
---If I handed you a list of every God, spirit, supernatural being, religion, supernatural claim, etc to have ever been proposed by humanity, and gave you the task of writing "legitimate" or "we made this **** up" next to each one, how far down the list would you get before spotting a trend?---

Similar to the blue dog democrats/moderate republicans. No tax increases, lower corporate taxes, tax breaks and more free market oriented, increased military spending, lower spending on social programs, lower environmental regulation, tougher on crime.
Thats pretty much a generic explanation and I tried not to add bias.

In reality it's probably not going to be that bad, still disappointed but not surprised. I hope Liberals have a more charismatic candidate next election. Sucks that people gave up on the Liberal party. Oh well, politics are about selling. Liberals were offering an excellent product but they haven't been very good salesmen since Jean Chrétien.
Glad the Bloc is now nothing but a memory.
So anyways, Conservatives are going to name 4 supreme court judges. Thought we'd have legal marijuana anytime soon? Jakes on us, maybe our grandchildren will have it. Srsly though, those 4 individuals will have a big impact on our country for the next 20 years. Especially since the court already has some pretty conservative people (Deschamps, Rothstein, Cromwell)Last edited by Tabarnakz; 05-02-2011 at 11:06 PM.

he massive debt Moulrouney incurred after Trudeau collapsed the economic engine of the country with the National Energy Program.
I wish he would have stayed in power long enough to be humiliated in the 1984 Election instead of handing it off to Turner, maybe Liberals wouldn't hold on to their hero worship of that failure.
Chretien's problems should be blamed on Mulroney
Mulroney's problems should be blamed on Trudeau
I love politics. . (truely, I do)

Wow Canadians are idiots who just believe attack ads and propaganda... enjoy your self-destructing country over the next 4 years. The nice thing is that after Harper has full reign to destroy the country over the next 4 years, they'll probably never get voted in again.
Europe is looking great right now.4k+ rep back ALL THE TIME YO, sup sup sup.

Spend like a drunken sailor, lie about spending, refuse to report on spending, get voted in contempt of parliament for lying and not reporting about spending and detainee reports, Harper then closes down parliament 2 times to avoid being voted in non-confidence (for being a **** up and lying), Harper in a massive deficit then wants to buy private prisons and massively expensive jets and cut corporate taxes. Oh, and spending billions on the G20 summit (something like 100 times more than last time), while taking a lot of that money and illegally spending it on something other than the G20 summit, then refusing to report where the money went. Also illegally campaigning.
Solid guy, good work Canadians.Last edited by CanadaBBOY; 05-02-2011 at 11:20 PM.

Did you think people were generally intelligent?
Most of them have no idea what platform belongs to who.
They vote Conservative because Canadians outside of urban centers generally want 2 things.
1. Lower taxes.
2. Less immigrants.
Somehow, they have correlated Harper and the conservatives to these things.

His first move will be to ram through around 110 new extreme crime laws, essentially turning us into the USA with their terrible legal system (make more people criminals, put them in jail, private jails, make money off them, decrease rehabilitation of criminals and crime prevention, increase crime, make more money, etc...). We're in for a **** storm.

Funny how it's been proven that in Harpers plans he is going to allow LESS immigrants into the country every year (despite his direct lie at the all candidates debate), and he is going to increase our taxes and decrease corporate taxes. Again if the drooling masses of idiots in this country did a bit of research this could have been avoided.

Yup, lower taxes for microsoft, HP, xerox, safeway, etc... all those huge corporations that don't give anything back to us are going to take those tax savings and give their CEO's bigger bonus's. Hopefully all of those redneck albertans really appreciate the tax cuts going to those big companies and not to them.
