Your statement about Obama "turning his back" on WWII veterans is hyperbole at best, but as I said earlier, and as you have done nothing to contradict, anything Obama could possibly do would be interpreted the same way by you, because that's the opinion you've decided to have, reality be damned.

Having read the transcript of his speech, I did not find it to be a formal apology. However, I don't think he could have picked a worse time to make this particular visit (perhaps with the exception of December 7 +- a couple days) and expression of regret, and I do construe that as turning his back on his own.
