Hey thanks...I don't think my lifts there are especially strong but somehow I have some pecs...who knows how..
Can't see it in the pics but I have some crazy horizontal veins, striations and semi deep holes/ depressions in my chest...not sure it's really all that attractive from an aesthetic standpoint. But I get a kick out of watching peoples expressions when Im lifting and I have a kind of mini hulk thing goin on...
As for the back Im going for that cobra head thing...Ive got some visible muscle but not that. Is it discdoggie who has such a killer back on here??

The woman at the pool I saw looked like she was a lifelong athlete of some kind. She had some great muscle mass, but not like a steroid look..she had the legs/glutes of a runner if that makes sense..
Thanks for the compliment After lifting for a couple of years, everything seemed to pop out this year...it was like all of a sudden I had shoulders and pecs and quads...not sure why but its nice the work is finally paying off. Now that I see results Im more motivated..and Ill confess now that I have some muscle Im terrified of losing it!

Mechanically, I would say I have difficulty with some movements where I lose balance. In particular, squats. I have not been able to perfect my form with BB squats at all. Also stuff like shoulder press and bench press are hard sometimes for me to get full muscle engagement since the weight gets stuck at the bottom at times and I am using my bones to push it rather than my muscles, if that makes sense.
Aesthetically, it's looking like a BB. When I have been leaner in the past, in my eyes I just look fit, not muscular. The muscles are there but they are long, not round. Sometimes, I envy the short girls that look like little barrels. But, I dig my long legs.Love others well, but love thyself the most

Anyway...you'll get there! You're lucky you started younger than I did..Did I read you had some really big babies? If so, I did, too. 3 kids, the first two 9.5 lbs...with the 3rd I demanded to be induced, lol...3 weeks early and he was 8.5 lbs! Anyway, it doesn't matter...you can bounce back from all the havok they wreak on our bodies, lol!

I totally agree. The good thing is that once you build a good base it's not all that hard to maintain it...so it's a good investment for life, I guess.
OK...crazy 6/14 double workout..
5am. w/Kevin doing chest. We're still doing isolation stuff..not sure how much longer he'll keep me on this. Today we did drop sets, 4 sets of 20, dropping the weight at 10 reps. I didn't track the weight but we did:
pec deck, incline bench press, flys, some other kind of flys, and abs...
then...off to do my deads/cardio
I couldn't remember how we were supposed to start the contest, but I kind of remembered it was trying to find our 8 rep max, and trying to increse reps..so I did
12 @ 95 to warm up
10 @ 115
8 @ 185
6 @ 215
8 @ 205
so I guess I'll keep 205 as my set weight for this contest. Oh and above 185 I used straps...
threw in some more abs (leg lifts on roman chair/bench leg kick-out things...total of 200 reps)
30 min ellip, stretching, foam rolling...
and that, my friends, is all she wrote
A trainer at gym #2 told me I looked like one of the women from the Conan the Barbarian comic books...and suggested I get a sword to wield Hmmm...kind of a weird/possible compliment, I guess...although those chicks have WAY bigger boobs! LOL...

6/15
Leg day from hell
Since Im doing the deadlift challenge, I thought I'd skip squats and take it easy on myself. HA! This workout kicked my ass (literally)...
Overhead squats:
4 x 15 @ 30 lbs
Pulsing Lunges(from hell):
4 x 10 w/ 45 lbs
10 reps per leg, 3 pulses per rep...
Leg press: High, toes off plate to target glutes..
4 x 20 reps w/ 6 plates (total) plus sled
SLDL:
4 x 20 w/80 lbs
May not look like much but the pulsing lunges made me want to cry..
no cardio..lots of foam rolling/stretching. Taking Axel to Six Flags now...it's going to be 100 degrees today, so walking around should be cardio enough!

Axel is 3, and I have a 9 and 13 yr old as well. There are lots of little kid rides, and a water park. I will say is was hideously hot there today. The rides were hot, as they sit in the sun and are mostly metal. My parents gave us seasons passes for Xmas...that's the only reason I take him. It's very close..so we can go for just a few hours and not feel like Ive wasted money to be there for just a short time.

6/16...back
Deads:
12 x 135lbs
8 X 185 lbs
11 x 195 lbs
Pull ups:
7 x 6 BW
Also worked w/ Kevin early this morning. We did a new back workout doing everything single armed..
Lat pulldowns/rows/some stuff with cables...was good and really felt more concentration doing single armed stuff. Did 3 sets of 15/12/10 reps...I don't keep track of my weight..(thats his job).
Got a great compliment at the gym today...a guy came up to me while I was doing pull ups and said, "I wish you could see your own back...it's incredibly muscular.."
oh, and 30 min cardio on ellip...Last edited by bosgirlin09; 06-16-2011 at 10:45 AM. Reason: add
