couldn't finish this game, put in around 40hrs and got to around lvl 30 but the pacing is just too slow for my liking. Was good at first but after spending 5% of my time playing the main story and 95% on side quest/ traveling / etc..It just got boring and repetitive.

Finally finished the game... Solid 7/10 from me.



By the halfway point I was just bored by the story and wanted it to end, doesnt help that near teh ending of the game is easily the worst parts. Characters and villains are just introduced out of nowhere and then leave just as quick. The historical cast of characters they had were woefully wasted and I honestly didnt give a fuk about any of them. Aya started out pretty cool, but by the end I didnt give a chit about her character and ended up disliking her. This game was supposed to show case the origins of the Assassins Brotherhood but it was so rushed.

Overall the campaign itself was severely disappointing and a huge missed opportunity. The game started out extremely bad, but the beginning and the set up was far more interesting than the middle and the ending now that I look back on it. The only saving grace is that the side quests were really well done and they were far more interesting than the main quest and Bayek himself was a great character that definitely deserves to be in a better written sequel.

yeah story is bad, had no idea what was going on since the beginning. flashbacks were pretty bad but I am enjoying the open world which is the main draw. photo-editing mode is a great feature.

The last act was rushed and featured too many cutscenes, imo. Didn't like Aya much at all.

By the way, have any of you experienced Rain in this game? It's something I realised/noticed that this game has no rain ... I know its set in Egypt but it's not like it doesnt ever rain in Egypt ... The closest I've come to seeing Rain is in Memphis, which seems to have constant overcast weather, but still no rain.

Bit disappointing though I guess, the only weather effect the game seems to have are the incredible sandstorms, nothing else. Would have been cool to see rain and maybe flooding if thats even possible on current tech.

3 hours in, just left the opening area for Alexandria, saw needed Level 10 so fast traveled back to Siwa (am at level 7, and now I have to trek 6800km through level 38 territory FUUUk.

My first impressions

+new combat system is refreshing and well done
+9.3/10 graphics. Comes in 3rd behind HZD and UC4
+Good crafting system
-rinse and repeat dialogue
-dont care about Bayek or his son so far

So far so good though! And lol one of the guards just called me a whoreson I thought that was just a Witcher term.

I think so. A lot of them appear in the middle of camps. It's fun avenging other players but you don't get much XP from it.

Who didn't see Aya ditching Bayek coming? I was a bit jarred leveling him up to 38, 39ish before the final mission. Then it just reverts to Aya and forces you to finish the game with her sh!tty equipment. Makes sense so everyone has the "Same" final boss battle. But it seems like her last two assassinations and dramatic ending sort of negated everything you did as Bayek. Almost like a reverse of MGS 5, where you find out (SPOILER IN A SPOILER)
you're not actually Big Boss but a brainwashed body double. (/SPOILER) In that instance, it made Venom Snake to be bad ass. The intention was to make you hate Big Boss, and it worked to that end for many. But with Bayek,
you're supposed to root for him. Why did Aya get the ending? And was she cucking him the whole game? Every time he met up with her she was running off as quick as possible, always changing the subject when Bayek brought up their dead son. I knew she was gonna ditch him, but she came across like a manipulative c!nt, so it felt jarring ending the game with her and making her seem all heroic.

Yeah it's pretty awesome seeing the pyramids, artwork, architecture, etc. I'm only in Alexandria but wow. They should've started the game out in this area cuz Siwa was so bland. Level 11 here. Only thing I'm trying to figure out is if the horse is faster than the camel mount. MF's are slow as hell for some of the distances you gotta travel.

The scarab assassiation was a great storyline. I am playing on pc, everything on max. I average between 40 and 50 fps. Is that good enough or should i overclock my cpu? I am new to pc.

I don't plan on finishing the game. Couldn't get into it. What was the modern day story about? Same goofs as before? Put the modern day story/ending in a spoiler. I always hate the modern day stuff, but I"m curious how they managed to shoehorn it in. Syndicate did the modern day sequences the best, aka, they are cutscenes you can skip.

The new chick in the modern day is basically gonna be the new protagonist moving forward. Her friend / scissor buddy might have been captured or killed by Abstergo. So she's pissed off. Then she wakes up from the Anus-musk to see Desmond's father leering over her, breathing heavily. (Desmond was the modern day guy in the OG trilogy, of course.) He offers her to join the Assassins, she acts all cliched and dismissive of the proposal. Desmond's dad name drops some characters who I don't remember by name (probably the nerdy chick and English guy with glasses), then they say "Let's head to Alexandria." There really was no definitive closure for any of the characters in the game besides the really forced ending they threw to Aya. Bayek's ending is basically going NC on Aya. And modern girl's ending is begrudgingly joining forces with modern Assassins. A great game, but the story fell apart at the end. I wouldn't mind an Aya sequel, but didn't like her overshadowing the person you upgraded throughout the game. Was a dumb decision. Felt really shoehorned in. I didn't really like any of the sections playing as Aya, the ship battles were bland and her weapons sucked. Black Flag was more than enough naval battles, they get boring fast.

He's kind of a mix of all the assassins. Got the rage of Connor but the humor of Ezio / Kenway. I also see a Witcher element with how he's helping all these people on the side. The side quests were definitely Witcher inspired.

It reminds me alot of The Witcher 3 (the difference being the free running obviously), but the gamesplay and leveling system is somewhat similar. Everything is really fluid as well.

Gonna say this is my #2 AC game after Black Flag. 3 was great too.

Even then it makes the game too easy, doesn't really phase me because the daily quest, I've been getting good ****. I have 3 or 4 golden items just from quests. You can upgrade it em as well. I am playing on hard, I am pretty unstoppable.

Not sure if it's the introduction to the last mission or not, it's been a minute since I played....but even after you "beat the game" you still have the same character and are back in free mode, can do all the side quests you missed (im pretty sure), find locations etc... All the ending is is an ending to the main story line, not the game itself.
