    Questions about hernia recovery.

Hey everyone I am around week 3 of inginual hernia repair surgery on my right side. I had my left side done back in 2018 and both were done by laparoscopic. My old doctor told me I had to wait at least 4 weeks before lifting heavy (the hernia I had was more serious then the one i got on my right side). However this time I went to another surgeon, had the surgery and was told I have no restrictions. I have tested the waters just the past few days lifting around 20-40 pounds. So far I feel fine with no pain or issues. Granted I feel fine but just lost that the doctor told me I am ok to go back to usual routines. Either way I don't plan to push myself to anything over 50 and above until 4 or maybe 6 weeks. I still have to gradually increase myself of course but was wondering how long did anyone wait to start trying to lift again. Like I said more than likely I'm going to stay at 15-20 pounds just to be on the safe side for now.

Very late on an update, but happy to report that at the 7 year mark everything is still as described in my last comment (good). Yet again, good luck and a swift recovery to you all.

    Mesh Removal vs Replacement

Hey all, I'll be fast as I know you're busy, and thank you all very much for having this thread, it is such a blessing!

For my 4th hernia repair, my doc said he can remove both meshes on my left side (had two surgeries there and two meshes)
and that it would have about a 5% failure chance or he can replace the rear mesh and attach it properly and basically guarantee
that I will be back on my feet lifting and running and pillaging without any fear of a reoccurance.

Have any of you seen more success with mesh, or with no mesh?

Thank you in advance for any help, it truly means the world to me as this is my life, and it is what I love and the thought of losing it
    scares me.
