The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (DATE: 11/11/2011)

I plan on getting this on pc vut could you guys enlighten me a little? What is so good about this game that puts it ahead of, lets say, the fable series. I hated fable, will I enjoy this game? I've never played an elders scrolls

I played the game for a couple of hours yesterday and although my expecations were absurd I was pretty much overwhelmed.

I haven't played Morrowind but Skyrim is a HUGE step up in every friggin aspect compared to Oblivion.

Bosmer has the best skills on archery when you start the game. I'm also playing as an Bosmer-archer by the way.
Thank god that being an archer doesn't suck here like it did in Oblivion (where I also started as an archer but ended up with swords because the being an archer sucked balls).

I loved the fable series, though they feel quite limited which is why I've loved morrowind and Oblivion more.

fuark brahs only 20 hours and I will be waiting in line at gamestop with some friends, after I buy I'm gonna go to the store and get a **** ton of snacks (been working out 2x longer this week to compensate), fukkin play alll night and skip my only lecture on friday.

plus I've restrained from watching ANY videos with any type of spoilers, so it feels rewarding and I haven't ruined shiat.

you can do pure archery... it will be harder i am sure but it can be done.

Kill someone, steal something and get caught, kill a chicken in town (lulz) can get you killed or arrested. You can sometimes pay your huge bounty off as well. Having weapons out in town makes people not like you as much.

So Turns out I think Karma Hates me for some reason. Was able to score Skyrim early drove home so fast, sure i broke a few road rules (foaming at the mouth with excitement at this stage) race in side go to put game in and xbox had those red rings of Death and wont turn on. I swear every house in the Neighbourhood has heard me swearing and cursing nearly broke down into tears for a few moments there. Trying to rationalize my thoughts atm. Fcuk u Karma.

glad to have a ps3, lol i got my ps3 the first day for 600$, its usually on everyday for 20 hrs, ( i play for an hour or 2 but never turn it off till i sleep ) and it works just like the day i bought it

I doesn't matter. Go with what you want most. I wanted to be an archer assassis, so I chose the bosmer (wood elf). He looks alpha as fukk and I can't tell you enough how friggin good it feels to actually be a bad ass archer who can do something and won't be raped by every wolf he encounters.... I fukking love the perks. This is how you making leveling fun for gods sake. You get neat new abilities as you progress. With level 30 on archery you can get the zoom feature when you aim, which acutally helps you a LOT.

The first real quest dungeon was awesome as fukk. Great riddles, cool scripts and a decent bossfight with good loot at the end. I almost cried.

And get this: The fights are more tactical than you think. Enemy archers acutally do get into cover. In general enemies run away when they have little health. On an other occasion I had a fight with a giant spider and I retreated through a little door the spider couldn't follow me through. I was baffeld when this thing retreated and didn't just stand in front of the door and let me shoot it, so I acutally had to reenter the room and get into a close quarter fight with it.

I mean, this ain't really impressing for tactical games but I really didn't expect that level of AI in an Elder Scrolls game.

Guys, I love this game. Already like 6 hours in and I have only done one real quest.

Yes. The games are pretty much completely seperated from each other. Every entry of the series plays in a different part of the overall country Tamriel. If you like RPGs, you'll love this. There ain't nothing like it. You can basically plunge into a different world.

You will be perfectly fine and would enjoy it immensely. There will be references to the previous games though but it's a new story line.

absolutely

this game takes place 200 years after the previous game. there are no story lines you missed.

it is an open world RPG where your actions matter.

over 300 hours of game play to be had.

your classes and characters are yours to choose. wanna swing a mace around while shooting fire out of your left hand? go for it.
