That's what everyone keeps telling me and it's making me want to do one even more, lol.
Still indecisive as to what weight class though. 148's I'd do well, I think, but the 165's I'd get killed. I'm not even worried about it though, just general thoughts. I'm not a competitive powerlifter but I'd like to not get killed.

Nah man, you have to do anyway. Everyone is super supportive and at your first meet there is plenty to learn about meets anyway. Also, People will enjoy seeing your starting point and your progress there-on.
I plan on doing a meet as soon as squats and bench are in check, even if my lifts suck.SF Bay Area Crew

I totaled 1225 @ 198 in my first meet. Far from competitive. The last two meets I did I easily won my weight class and was in the top 3 for Wilks co-efficient. Who cares what you total at your first meet? Just compete and see if it's for you.

Disclaimer: I was one of the first people (to my knowledge) to do a barbell Seal Row in the US (at least on social media and lets be honest, if it didn't happen there it didn't happen at all) after I saw some Swedish PLers on IG do them.
The reason the Seal Row (with a barbell) came about was because the Swedes were improvising. They didn't have a chest supported row (ie: Hammer Strength) so they MacGuyvered a new exercise. If you have a chest supported T-Bar row or a Hammer Strength Row, there's no reason you should be going to all that trouble.
Now lets talk about effectiveness. In the context of strength, we want to select movements with 1. High rate of transfer 2. Heavy load potential 3. ROM. I think the chest supported row is very specific because it mirrors the reverse motion of a bench press. You can train your lats and upper back (with no load on the lower back) while focusing on scapular retraction under load which is an imperative skill for the bench. The load potential and ROM (with the barbell) is where the Seal Row fails to match up to other chest supported row variations. You aren't going to be able to go as heavy on them as say a straight barbell row, Pendlay Row, or my favorite the Rack Row (barbell row from pins right below the knee) so for strength (and at a certain point - hypertrophy) you're going to hit a wall with them. The barbell is going to hit the bench (not for Erik since he has those boxes) and you're going to sacrifice ROM.
Once again I suggest you try everything - Not just because your favorite YT celeb does it (I love Berto but he has a lot of blind followers) but in the interest of trial and error."Nutrition for powerlifting: If you are serious about it, you will eat f*cking everything and get strong as $hit." - HamburgerTrain

Used to love doing BB rows before sciatica (at least I think it is) happened. Now I'm just cable rows, DB rows. HS rows are dope too

Some DB Rows from yesterday, haven't done them in a while. But they actually felt pretty decent, I'm not a huge fan of them.. but I prefer them to conventional rows.
I got a bit sloppy towards the end. Anything I should do differently? After watching it I definitely think my body should be more parallel to the floor.
