Hope so. He is a strong runner, and talent wise, he's unmatched in that backfield. Some of the coaching decisions you see in the NFL are mind boggling however. For instance two years ago where Demarco Murray was a shell of himself, and Titans kept running him and kept Henry on the sideline for weeks......

This. Denver's rush defense was bottom half of the league last year at 120 ypg. Fangio may improve that, but it remains to be seen. I would expect a lot of Montgomery next week or at least hope for it. I feel like I want to bench Monty to wait and see, but then also feel like that means he ends up with like 90 yards and a td if I do lol

What do you mean "us Bears fans". He is a smart offensive mind. It's not just Bear fans who think that. He got out schemed last night by Petine. Plain and simple. Sometimes I feel he gets too creative for his own good. Much like last night they start the game with Cohen, Davis, and Montgomery in the backfield. Move everyone around and try to trick Petine right off the bat. It backfired and they never gained control back of the game. That was the worst game I've ever seen him coach. I feel he gets it corrected and has a better game in Denver next week even though it will be tough to win there.
You act like hes the only coach ever to have a bad game. He won coach of the year last year for fuks sake lol.Bears/Bulls/Blackhawks

I think he’s smart too. My point is that maybe he knows more than you. Maybe there’s something about Montgomery he doesn’t like. And this whole thing where an offense struggles and people pretend they could’ve called a better game is a joke. It’s been going on for years but it’s getting worse and worse.
As for as coach of the year award, who cares? Let me know how many of those awards Belicheck has won.Horny.

i like montgomery and think he's the most talented back in that backfield for sure, but it's tough to trust him at all in that anemic offense. interestingly, they basically used cohen almost exclusively as a slot receiver, so i don't think he'll eat away at montgomery much, but davis is the clear preference for passing situations with his blocking ability, so i don't think montgomery will get to showcase his receiving ability all that much. could be a good buy low candidate considering the bears passed a ridiculous amount in a close game and it's tough to imagine them doing that again, but you still can't trust him at all.

It's not rocket science.
It was a 4 point game for 3.5 quarters. He called 48 pass plays. Mitch attempted 45 of those and scrambled on 3 others. Mitch was under pressure all night. Packers played dime nearly the entire night. At one point they ran 30 straight plays without a single run......
5 rushes for Davis
6 for Montgomery
1 for Patterson
I don't care who you are, what team you like, who your coach is..............48 pass plays in a 4 point game against 6 DBs playing dime all game and 12 run plays is not a winning formula. Obviously because they scored a whole 3 points.Last edited by bullybreed; 09-06-2019 at 09:22 AM.

No, but Kamara came in and was behind Ingram and AP. Kamara was seen as undersized, and a non-bell cow because he played behind jaylen hurt at Tenessee (after he left alabama, went to coffyville CC, and back to D1), but he had similar charecteristics to what Justice Hill has now. burst, balance, footwork, great hands, and hard to tackle. Now im not saying Hill is going to be as good as Kamara, but i think he will have a job in the backfield beyond just a change of pace guy. It may take a few weeks, but it will come.
I would drop coutee. injured, and now competing with DJJ and Stills as well.

Half as many Super Bowls as he won, nice.
Maybe you’re right, maybe he called a horrible game and you would’ve done better.
But I just don’t get the idea that Montgomery was popping off the screen and Nagy just didn’t see it. I’ve seen rookies like Zeke, Mixon, and Barkley come in and flash right away things that most other backs can’t do. They forced their teams to get them the ball. I didn’t see any of that from Montgomery. He could still be awesome but I just think people got carried away with a Big 12 back that got drafted in the third round who still has one of the best receiving backs in the league in his backfield, in an offense that isn’t close to elite.Horny.

I agree. This isn't going to go away if all he has to do is apologize with a couple crocodile tears and then everything is peachy again. I'd suspend him to void the guarantees and tell him he has one more chance now that they can cut him without having to pay him. Hopefully, the threat of losing $30m will keep him in line (or $30m minus whatever he'd sign for as a FA, which will be nowhere even close to $30m after quitting on his former team, 4 off-field incidents, freezing his feet off, suing the league over his helmet, and then calling out, insulting, and eventually verbally threatening his GM - all in the course of a year).

Honestly, he should. If this was Belichick, Brown would probably be packing his bags already. It's a terrible example to the rest of the team who is actually working hard, attending practice and preparing for the season.
Raiders are not in "win now" mode, and while losing AB would make them weaker on paper, it would be much better for team chemistry.6'1 - 240lbs

According to ESPN's Josina Anderson, Antonio Brown delivered an "emotional apology" at a team meeting Friday morning.Source: #Raiders WR Antonio Brown just issued “an emotional apology” at a team meeting this morning, just now, “with team captains standing with him.”
