Gimp is great and honestly, a couple weeks playing around on it, youll be making quality chops.

All you need for Misc level chops is the quick select tool and a basic knowledge of layers. Would be up for helping out if you make a "Photoshop Crew" thread though. Could also throw after effects in as well, yer man with the banana deepthroating gif was right, it's a fuk ton easier to make gifs with it.*Always Pick 2 Crew*

Ah the old mspaint days, good times, great idea AK. Plus it's misc fast and you don't need to have perfect chops for it to be funny.
All the the old misc chops was on 4chan, reddit, basically every forum used them. How I found this place and lurked.

In 4 MISC how to Chop Thread.
Also I feel you on the frustration Rich... between the down voting and also the ridiculous levels of chit-tier threads but what seems to be bot accounts with no post history. They even bump tons of random threads from like 5-8 years ago.
chits getting pretty bad and depressing on the MISC srsOutdoors brah is a purely fictitious persona. Any contextual or graphic creation, opinion, or post made by Outdoorsbrah is not a reflection of real life or reality in any manner, expressed nor implied.

That's the thing. I don't want it to be just me. I haven't used Gimp in ages, PS in a year or two so the only thing i'm familiar with is the Pixlr format because it's quick, simple etc. So i'd need everyone to pitch in advice for other programs. Alot of the terminology is the same but where to find the stuff is different from program to program. Plus i definitely don't go about stuff the easiest ways so I'd prolly learn a ton too. I just want it to be the basics for now..maybe progress to .gifs etc. which i totally do the wrong way i'm assuming. PS is great for that.

I'll happily chip in on PS. Getting to grips with After Effects atm but I'll post stuff up as I learn it.
The hard part will be indexing it (basically logging post numbers for relevant stuff in the OP. Photoshop basics, Post 4 tutorials: Posts 15, 23, 45 Gimp basics, Post 3, tutorials posts 17, 19 etc) but I'm sure everyone'll happily throw their own expertise in.*Always Pick 2 Crew*

That's impressive, Paint used to annoy the fuk out of me, Gimp, I found easier for cloning, transparency and general cutouts ( the keys to chopping). Just needs patience with the layers system which I bypass anyway (bad habits and time saving).
Ezgif is the site i find easiest for splitting gifs into frames (gimp also does it), but it's also good for resizing/ cropping the completed gif.
For beginners I'd try a site like this https://www.faceinhole.com go to the create your own section, upload a photo of say bigfoot. highlight the face region, then upload a photo of michellenne to put in as the new face. Gives you a handle on using the transparency tools on other apps.

Drafting a Photoshop Basics post (the cut and paste, 2 minute, simple chit) for when we get the tutorial thread on the road. We should probably start with the bare basic, you could teach a toddler to do it in 5 minutes, tutorial for all of the platforms we're teaching then go into more advanced chit (gifs, backgrounds, making things look real, etc.)
