Kind of, I would say in the movie that from her side she is looking for youth, fun, sex and live in partner and is choosing to ignore that he is only with her for a luxurious place to live.
(I don't think the characters are 2 dimensional.)
The money part wasn't what reminded me of Anne Heche's character, it was the youth and fun part that you seem to highly value in regards to a partner.

you understand that long term, the odds of this working out is horrible? so why even try?
Most young guys will want kids at some point. Also women age hard and fast between 50 and 60. Even if you work hard to keep your looks, at 60, your BF would be 38. It would like a guy dating his grandma. No chance he would stick around
My best friend is 30 and married to a 41 year old. We all think he is insane. I think they'll get divorced in 10 to 15 years when she looks 20 years older than him
You seriously can't find a decent looking guy your age who lifts? tons of them at my gym
Open up tinder or match or whatever and you'll have a million messages from good looking men your age who will date you

I'm 40 and it would be a bit creepy to say the least especially if she was one of those babyface girls who look really young.
Half your age plus 7 is the minimum and over 18. So for me, that's 27 although a mature girl in her mid 20's maybe, but I honestly prefer girls in their 20's. I've given up on glow a while ago.

Short term thinking and idealism...
Young girls tend to think idealistically and short term, IME older women (and men) tend to see things from a different perspective simply because they've been around longer.
Also, there's an arrogance I've found that only people below 25 tend to have. I can't describe it well, but it's a general cockiness and narcissism... Life normally beats that out of people by their 30s.
Life experience...
18 year olds simply can't relate to what it's like to go through some of the experiences that practically everyone I know has by time they are in their mid 30s.
They haven't had a long term relationship, don't know what it's like to hold down a job for years, don't know what it's like to experience massive social change, etc.
Empathy...
Also, IME life experience can breed empathy. Something which IME younger people tend to lack, they tend to think about their own scenario and not at how their behaviour potentially impacts others.
Impulsivity...
Also, IME people by time they are in their 30s tend to have their impulsivity in check (I've known very impulsve people who have settled down by time they are 30). By time people are in their 30s IME, they tend to have more self awareness and are more responsible, or simply honest about their limitations. Also I've found that younger people are far quicker to leave jobs if they are 'bored' or don't like them, because they live with their parents, don't have a family or mortgage that they need to pay, or are young enough they will generally get rehired. They haven't faced any long term negative consequence for bad decisions... Yet.
I definitely could not date someone who is; unempathetic, idealistic, short term thinking, impulsive, and lacks life experience. I can have enjoyable conversations with them, but definitely not for any attempt at serious dating. If You Don't Like To Talk About Your Feelings, This Might Help...

Would never date an 18 year old again.
They dont know what the fk they want in life. They say one thing and do another couple months later. Scared of commitment because of the FOMO on partying single and their sloot phase.
Would only FWB now and would never let my wall down.
