Reason: Conor is a TKO/KO artist specializing in ending fights early (most common fight length is <5 minutes). Mendez, despite his power is a decision fighter with a most common fight length of 15min. If he is able to drag Conor into the deeper rounds I suspect his wrestling will open a TKO or submission finish.
Providing Mendez doesn't get tuned up in round 1...
Anyways, I'm innie like a belly button.
I was tempted to bet on the championship rounds for the odds placed above, but think the emotions going into this fight will cause it to end early either way.

As a Team Alpha Male nut hugger, I'm so psyched. It's kind of a bummer Chad is getting this opportunity on short notice, but I think he can still take it and shut down the hype train. However, I gotta admit that the stars right now seem aligned for Conor to win and continue being a superstar.
We'll see what happens! My life feels like a never ending journey of fighting morons.. every single day.

I would guess that if Conor loses they (pending medical) put him on the Dublin card against someone he can beat to work him back up. He won't face Frankie or Mendes again until he fights Aldo.
If he wins, he will fight Aldo and Dana will pray Conor wins so he can schedule the rematch in Dublin which would be very big. People there would turn out to support him no doubt. Dana would get a three-run out of that deal.

Brown vs Means could be a fun slugfest! Curious to see Neery again, I really like him, Smolka is fun to watch too usually. Good fights here in this card!

I think whichever guy loses, ends up being mentally broken by it.
Connor because his 15 minutes would be up, he'd have blown the huge payday against Aldo, he'd look like a fool for all his trash talk and his gimmick would be ruined.
Mendes' career is basically over if he loses. He either wins the interim title and becomes a star by taking down McGregor in the process, earning a 3rd shot at Aldo he probably thought would never come. Or he comes up 2nd again. He lost the national wrestling title in a huge upset in the finals after he'd dominated the tournament. Has destroyed everyone in MMA except in title fights where he'd be 0-3. He's never getting another chance to be the best if he loses this.
Stakes couldn't be higher.

Good post. Although certainly McGregor has more to gain. Mendes will be a tough opponent for Aldo the third time and it will probably be a great fight, but I doubt he wins. McGregor vs. Aldo will be interesting if he ends up knocking Mendes out in short order.
If McGregor gets exposed as somebody who can't stop a takedown he's toast. There are a lot of good wrestlers at the top of 145.

I tend to agree.
Both guys have an incredible amount of risk attached to this fight. A win over Mendes basically shuts up all the people who says that McGregor can't handle wrestlers, because let's face it, Conor has been matched up very, very carefully. He beats Mendes and that puts all doubt behind him.
This is basically Mendes's last chance at a belt and if he doesn't win this he'll forever be second (or third) which is a shame considering how his only two losses are to Aldo.
I am shocked that the lines are in favor of McGregor because I expected a lot of people to dump their money on Mendes until we see McGregor against an actual wrestler. I've already put down bets on Mendes and I expect him to win.

I place some importance that Aldo beat him by decision in the second fight and not by KO or submission.
Mendes went 5 rounds with him, which says something of his ability.
He also beat Guida, and although Guida is not great in my eyes he did beat Anthony Pettis and Pettis has beaten Melendez, Henderson, Cerrone etc.

No it's not a UK site, it's an Irish bookmaker. Wtf are you even talking about?
Also why are you using pounds sterling and not Euro if you're supposedly Irish? Another Britbong who has no fighters to support jumping on the hate wagon. Your gay lil tennis player got knocked out in straight sets in Wimbledon by Federer, aww boo hoo. Is the UK genuinely good at ANY sport at all?
