a newborn baby is technically atheist. because it doesn't believe in a god


atheism is literally the lack of a belief of a god. and if someone has never pondered the possibility of a god that means they dont believe in one, which makes them atheist. for instance, u probably have never pondered the existance of an eight dicked 45mile high purple donkey with *******s for eyes and balls for nostrils, so u by default dont believe in one

Might be said but this got clarified for me on theatheistexperience.

Gnosticism is related to knowledge and theism on god's existence. The two are not the same. You can be agnostic atheist, which is also called weak atheism since it is not based in certainty.

I think most people are just scared to call themselves atheist and see it as a hedge, to avoid heat from anyone.
