They weren’t.
Not only were they just making the tires last, they were on the lowest engine mode lol. If they were pushing, Max would have likely lapped everyone up to the top 5 or so lmao.
Red Bull will win the constructors and Max will win the drivers. No doubt about it.
Even if they didn’t develop the car for the rest of the season, no one would catch up.

I can't confirm the engine mode but if you watch Verstappens helmet cam it gives you the team radio audio, and 58sec into the very first lap his engineer asked him to go into management mode. Max still pulled away from Ferrari by nearly a sec a lap despite being in management mode...

Brutal....
Imagine taking a 10-place grid penalty on the SECOND RACE of the season. If Mercedes simply don't break down this year they could place ahead of Ferrari in the championship by default at this rate.
Oh well, just a cleaner podium opportunity for the GOAT.
I have Alonso for fastest in fp1 (lol, yes you can bet on practice)
I have verstappen to win qualifying
I have verstappen to win the race (this is the only one that matters)
I might take Alonso for another podium again depending on how qualifying goes.
Wish I could take sainz for a podium bet.... But you just can't expect those chitboxes to finish a race.Last edited by HMFIC_BROWSIN; 03-15-2023 at 01:14 PM.

Yeah, this year is different imo. Early last year there was competition from Ferrari especially on specific tracks which made it more interesting..... Right now I think anything better than -200 is value for Max to win. Maybe Aston Martin will get even with RB over the season development. But that won't be for a long time. Probably not until after RB locks in both championships.
I got max to win this weekend at -150, he has since shifted to -200, which is still good value IMO.
It feels like Red Bull can chose how much faster they want to go than everyone else right now LOL
Edit: I also took a micro bet on leclerc to be the first driver to retire.... Between fighting his way up from a grid penalty, AND the mechanical issues, +2200 seems like value.Spoiler alert; you die at the end.

You're not speaking too soon. RB and VER are the best car/driver combo in the field by a mile.
My big hope is the Aston Martin can continue with a good showing. Was very impressed by Stroll, driving around with 2 broken wrists and a broken toe for 6th shows hi mto be tough. I've always thought he was a bit unfarily treated, Sure his dad now owns the team, but he's had a pole, and he's shown some great speed in the wet previously. I don't think he can beat Alonso, but not as bad as a lot of pundits say.
It's not as simple as just whacking on some RB sidepods, the whole of the car has to work, from front wing through to rear. It will be fundamentally a redesign from the ground up.My personal pronouns are: Don't talk to me/Fck off

I'm tired of everyone pumping up stroll; he almost fuked Fernando out of the race on lap 1.... In which case I suppose he could have blamed his wrists had it happened that way.
He's so lucky he didn't puncture Alonso there, would have been fuked.
Even if leclerc didn't retire, Alonso would have been on podium if stroll didn't smack into him on lap 1. Stroll made it so the only reason Alonso got podium was because leclerc retired.

I thought Mercedes tested a more standard side pod in one of the races last year? Maybe my memory serves me wrong, or it was a failure for them.Last edited by HMFIC_BROWSIN; 03-17-2023 at 03:08 AM.

FP1 starts in a few min, this should give us an idea of how close Ferrari/Merc/Aston are to Redbull on a completely different track that rewards different car characteristics. Max is sick. Checo is a street race master. Hoping for a close race on Sunday.
