SI units are based on the denary system, which is based on the number of fingers we have. I was pointing out the irony in the post I was replying to. Never mind that it flew over your head
Oh, here's an instance of imperial units working amazing

It is quite arbitrary. It is born out of convenience rather than necessity. Metric subdivisions being based in base-ten is nice and everything, but it does not make it "better". If Americans understand Imperial measurements in relation to other Imperial measurements it is irrelevant. Europeans are simply looking for some smug thing to passive-aggressively jab at Americans about.
"I kept looking in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven one like a Son of Man was coming, and He came up to the Ancient of Days and was presented before Him. And to Him was given dominion, glory and a kingdom, that all the peoples, nations and men of every language might serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion which will not pass away; and His kingdom is one which will not be destroyed."

Come on. I'm American too but even I can admit that the metric system is superior to the imperial. It makes far more sense and makes calculations in science much simpler.
Europeans are better than us in some things and us Americans are better than them in some other things. No one's the best at everything.

This. You hear all the time about project management errors dude to incorrect conversions, using the wrong system, etc. Sometimes people just buy the wrong parts since it's almost a toss up whether parts are in inches or meters. It seems like most "engineering" parts (screws, pipes, etc.) are sold in inches, pressure in pounds per square inch (LOL), etc.
