Joe,
I know we covered this at the Arnold, but I for got your answer. When is the best time to take a post-workout carb. I train at night and I usually am done weights at 7 then take my protein shake and hit cardio. And since the carbs and protein are flavors that won't taste well togeath, yuck!!! Can I take it durning cardio or right after. Thanks big man
P.S. cutting is going well!

Hi Zack, after weight training(about 15 minutes after intense weight training, post workout drink, carbs/protein..) use a fast burning carb( such as drinks massport drink, rice cakes, and so on to spike up your insulin level) with a good way protein to go with, wait about 10 minute then go right into cardio(low impact to burn calories)....pre workout drinks should include slow burning carbs
train hard, lets see those progress photos soon...
take a look at this info from b.b.com
High GI foods are those that pass rapidly through your digestive system (i.e. fast-digesting) and into your blood stream. Because these types of carbs arrive in your bloodstream so quickly, they drive up blood glucose levels. This causes insulin to spike so that your body can utilize the glucose. Low GI foods are those that pass more slowly through the digestive system (i.e. slow-digesting) and gradually enter the blood stream, keeping insulin levels more consistent.
Typically, simple sugars such as table sugar (sucrose) are high GI carbs, while most complex carbs, such as sweet potatoes, are low GI carbs. However, there are many exceptions to this rule. For example, fruit is high in the sugar fructose, yet most fruits are very low GI carbs.

mr joe palumbo,
the other night i was training chest, started with incline db press, felt strong and had a good pump going, then i moved on to flat bench smith machine, started light and worked up to a heavy set, but on my heavy set i felt a slight strain in the left pec. so i stopped and moved to incline flyes. i didn't tear my left pec, but there was a pretty good strain. i have stayed away from chest for about a week now. my question is this, should i avoid flat presses? i had no trouble with inclines, but the flat presses seem to aggravate my left pec.
thanks in advance.

Hi, good to meet you, your training looks more like a cross fit training goal, i see a few problems with your training and eating, before i start, i want to make sure what your goal is, are you doing a bodybuilding show or physique? your pre and post weight training regiment does not have any carbs with the protein, every training/food/nutritional regiment needs to be geared to its own specific needs, get back to me so i can start your regiment designed for your needs....
Take a few minutes to read other goals in here, you will see and understand the importance of different sport that require their own regiments....

Nice to meet you Joe!!!! I am working on a bodybuilding goal. I am trying to cut to around 245-250 at about 4% or whatever I come in dry at. I do understand the need for carbs pre/post workout and detailed plans for certain goals. I have dropped some carbs and increased the fats to feel satisfied and also to deal with the carb anger issues. I know you understand when carbs are super low it sometimes hard to be around yourself much less anyone else. i have cut close to 56 pounds in the last two months. With 3 months out i feel I need to average around 16 pounds a month, while trying to hold on to as much lbm as possible. I am looking forward to hearing what you have to say. The more I Learn the more I Grow!! I hope I have answered the questions you needed. Thank you again!!!!

Hi Sorry to hear about your injury, but stay positive, you did not tear it which is a good thing, now its time to; treat it, heal it and get back into the game...you must have strained a tendon/ligament with the way the body was positioned, usually when doing bench presses we tend to go heavier because we are utilizing other muscles groups such as triceps and shoulders, you could have put a lot of stress on that area where that was the weakest point and that's what gave out first, i personally (and most pro's) do not do bench presses, its a great power lifting exercise but im a bodybuilder and i want to concentrate on each muscle group at a time to maximize the most out of that specific muscle fibers to come into play with out the assistance on other muscle groups getting involved, most of us pro's have replaced the flat barbell bench with dumbbell fly's or presses, this allows us to isolate and concentrate on each muscle group and train it to failure for best building results....Your in lock right now, we have with us Dr. Mike Camp( he works only on pro athletes from different sport) Q and A session on Fridays between 7 pm to 10 pm, stop by and ask any question you have, its free...
just go to; https://www.********.com/InfiniteLab...ements?fref=ts
