Don't deadlift anymore crew.
But nice job getting strong and looking better OP.
If you're deadlifting, you're probably chasing a max. I've never, NEVER seen anyone max with perfect form. It just doesn't happen. That means you'll probably get hurt training the lift.
Deadlifts = injury (for most of the population)
Injury = time out of the gym
Time out of the gym = detrimental to aesthetics
For the natural lifter, looking half way decent is a game of 3 - 5 years (or a decade). The lifter that does leg curls, RDLs, lunges, hip ups, etc will have more aggregate time in the gym than the guy that dead lifts but has to take a few months off due to injury. The delta between the muscle building capacity of the dead vs other lifts does not make up for the time that you'll spend on the couch icing your back (not lifting). Please consider the environment before printing this post.

Took myself to snap city 3 times, most recent one was a few weeks ago. Have good form, foam roll and stretch before every set, don't do any weight I can't get Inleast 5 reps of and still got hurt.
Finally just retired that exercise and barbell squats as its not worth it for me. My 2 favorite exercises to, but, I can get great results without them.
(Last snap city wasn't even barbell deadlift, I switched to Hexagon and it was working great for months until it didn't.)
Great exercises though would recommend them to anyone under 40

Ive been deadlofting since I ever started lifting and I have never pulled or torn anything. As long as you stretch beforehand and use great form youll have a tiny chance of getting hurt. Some of you guys should really do more research on the exercise, it can help greatly with size.

Chit happens mane.
Did squats heavy AF for the first four years of training, no mobility work, minimal stretching, and never had an injury.
Got hurt once, now I re-injure that spot super easily. I do mobility work, lightened the weight, try perfecting my form, but chit still happens.
Got hurt squating fuarking 225 for high reps, I used to be able to squat in the mid 400's with zero issue.
Hard to understand until it happens to you.Brosplit Crew

what happened to you, which is probably what generally happens to people, is you were gradually getting degenerative changes from lifting until you hit the tipping point one day.
once those discs start going its a chronic problem, the only acute injuries that probably have a high chance of no future issues are muscles strains
