16k seems like a solid price. I see rusted out bodies going for like 8k alone.

Repped. I've been wanting to get into flipping for cars but don't really know where to start. Been scouring craigslist trying to find some 3-4k cars with trashed interiors and paint that I can recondition and sell since I have the ability and equipment to do all of that but I can't find anything.

Do you go to auctions or what?

I get them from auctions, Craigslist and referrals. A lot of people know I flip cars and they reach out to me when desperate and I often land deals. Last week I picked up a 02 Jaguar w/ 70k miles in 8/10 condition and flipped it 4 days later. Also I have an Escalade I just picked up at a US Marshal auction (tax exempt purchase). They key is to not get greedy and I try to make $750-1500 per car and I usually stick to the price range of $4-7k as most people don't have expendable cash and that's the most common price point for cars. Also it's all off the books so once you start dealing with checks and financing it gets reported if you nomsaiyan. I think I wrote a long write up to someone a while back about flipping cars, I'll dig around for it and pm you if I find it.

I would really appreciate it. Yeah, I detailed a few cars for a guy and after like the 3rd or 4th different vehicle I asked what the deal was and he told me he buys em from craigslist and flips em for ~$1k more. He told me in this economy he doesn't like to spend more than 5k per. Also said he can only do 3 cars a year before its some tax issue, so he uses family members. Said some vehicles he never puts in his name if he can flip it quick enough, but I believe you can get into some **** doing that.

How did you get a dealers license for an auction? When I looked into it, I had to have a commercial address and I didn't at the time as my business was 100% mobile stationed from my houses.

Ugh, I did too lol. I do dislike ford though or at least 71 fastback stangs. First car I learned how to wrench on, my buddy's dad had a few fords he raced at Aatco and he had us in his pit crew. Not getting into details but I'm 100% certain that one drunken night in the 60's, the engineers at FoMoCo decided they were gonna troll the fuk out of the technicians because I have never encountered the kind of fukkery ford has going on under the hood/underbody than in any other car. Between the 71 fastback and the 76 t bird I was about to swear off slinging parts for good until my buddy got the same camaro as my current one in high school and needed an engine swap. Banged it out in a beer fueled weekend and have been a GM fan ever since lol
