"Blue Jays 1B Adam Lind (back) remained sidelined for Monday's game in Detroit, as anticipated, his eighth consecutive game out of the lineup. Lind went through drills prior to Sunday's game against the Twins and did not experience any setbacks. He then went through more tests before Monday's game and is still being classified as day to day. "If we find out later today that there's still some discomfort there, based on the increased volume that he'll do this afternoon, we may have to make a decision to give it time to completely clear up and give us more flexibility on the bench," Blue Jays manager John Farrell said. Sportsnet.ca reports that Lind, who went through batting practice and infield drills on Monday, has also been ruled out for Tuesday's game. "At this point it's the great unknown," Farrell said. "We're trying to get a read on just how much discomfort might be there. The one thing we certainly want to do is avoid aggravating it and then ... taking a step back."
