Our defense was very bend, but don't break tonight. They were easily running the ball against us and Mayfield really didn't have much issues passing it. I wasn't sure what game plan we had on defense. If it hadn't been for those 2 fumbles, this conversation be much different.
Our offense continued to struggle. I've been saying it for a while now, we don't have an offensive identity. We want to do X, but can't. We try doing Y, but we can't. I saw an article that mentioned Brady being frustrated that they have had quite a bit of turnover at WR. Our line needs help and our WRs need to stay healthy so we can figure this out come playoff time.
Baltimore will be a tough, tough match up next weekend which they could expose our weaknesses very easily.

man our left tackle is awful - against good teams we will need to have help there or Brady is going to get killed.
as I said in other thread, it is hard to have an identity in O when u keep changing pieces every week but with that being said I saw some progress with Michel's runs so that was good. At the end of the day this team will go as far as Brady and Edelman take'em. Last year we won the super ball with ONE receiver as they couldn't cover Edelman. This year we have more pieces but we need time for them to sync up.
D there seems to be holes in the middle - lots of of runs up the middle and a lot of bad tackling (prob cause the weather).
man I hope we can bring our LT back from IR or if not I would settle for the kicker as our kicker sucks."Paper money is going away" - EM

Yeah, we need Wynn back. I keep reading we're looking to bring in WR talent, but let's focus on bolstering our offensive line. That's going to open up so much more than another WR.
Honestly, this game against the Browns was a good game for us. Our defense needs to be reminded that they aren't unstoppable and eventually teams are going to be able to move the ball on us. Heading into a tough Ravens game, playing sloppy and giving up big yardage on the ground I think will help us focus even harder this week.
I think once Sanu gets up to speed that will help. He seems like he's going to be really good. He made a few mistakes yesterday that will get cleaned up. Funny how a few of those mistakes are things he probably never got taught in Atlanta, but because Brady expects you to be perfect, he has to learn / remind himself of them.
As far as the Ravens go, Lamar Jackson will make it tough on us, but I think the Ravens are beatable. Outside of beating Seattle last week, their wins are against: Dolphins, Cardinals, Bengals and Steelers. All pretty bad teams. They've lost to the Browns and Chiefs. If can keep Jackson contained we will be able to win.New England Patriot

Barnwell called this the best defense in NFL History...
I think the Pats have #1 all but wrapped up in the AFC.
The worry is, hopefully the Colts lose some goddamn games, I loved to see Jacoby succeeding at first, but now it's putting the Patriots in danger of hard playoff match-ups. You want the Chiefs & Ravens to have to knock off one or the other. Currently, Patriots would likely have to beat both.

I think when we get enough healthy WRs we are going to be able to "bandaid" fix our offensive line issues with running 4-5 WR sets and have success moving the ball. We need Burkhead to get healthy as I think he's a better dual threat RB than Michel which really opens up our offense.
We re-signed Cody Kessler to the 53 man roster. We're saved!New England Patriot

Also, I have heard Nate Solder floated around as a name that might be coming back. He hasn't been nearly as productive in NYG, but you figure he'd pick it up back here. Would leave us in great shape along the line, especially when(if) Wynn comes back...
That would really be the clincher for us I think.

Trade deadline this afternoon. No moves yet, but I have to imagine we make a splash. With the revolving door at TE, I have to think we trade for Howard. I think they'd require a 1st round pick and while that is pricey, I think he's worth it. He's only 25, tons of upside, good blocker and pass catcher and we aren't going to find another TE like him in the coming draft.

We win the SB if we get Howard. I wanted him in the draft. Dude can ball when used properly and kept motivated/disciplined.

Howard would be very doable because his contract would fit within our current salary cap amount. However, we just gave up a 2nd round pick for Sanu and while he would be a great pick up, I'm not sure if Belichick is wanting to give up a 1st and 2nd heading into next year.
Williams, OT in Washington, is a big name that would be great. I don't think we'll get him, but that's a big name out there.New England Patriot

Yeah, a little sad that we didn't make a splash, but doesn't surprise me. We gave up a 2nd for Sanu and I didn't think we'd give up a 1st as well for anyone.
While I am sad, I am optimistic as can have Harry on the field as early as this week and Wynn is just a few weeks away. Once we get those two back, Sanu will be up to speed and we should be rolling by then...just in time for the playoffs.New England Patriot
