Gallardo vs E60 M5
Feels pretty good to know that my boat of a car can walk Gallardos. If I remember correctly, both were 08s.

Opinions please?
Potentially purchasing this 2003 E46 M3 SMG. Has a tad over 100,000 km (60,000 miles).

Seems legit.
Id still get a PPI done prior to purchasing.
Get it checked for subframe cracks and potential SMG problems etc.
Edit** The front and rear wheels are different? wtf
A lot of wear and tear in the interior. That steering wheel trim piece is thrashed.
Why only Brembo's on the front?
Im slightly turned off it now.Last edited by Deano87; 02-06-2014 at 01:16 AM.

I'll view the car first - if it seems ok I'll have a full inspection (including compression test) conducted by a very reputable BMW service centre (BM Techniks) here in Perth.
Can't really tell from the photos re interior, but I'll make that decision when I view it.
I spoke to the owner, he said he only did the front brakes as they needed replacing at the time he changed them to Brembos. Said he didn't want to change the rear brakes as they didn't require replacing.
Front & rear wheels seem the same? It may just be the angle of the photos.
Of course it's all inspection dependant. When I view the car, if it's a dog ill tell the owner to go fk himself for advertising it as immaculate.
You mean the right side

here's my baby sitting healthy at 230k after traveling to Canada for a ski trip this past weekend:
e46 FTW! Natty Brown interior with sport seats.
I'm done "modding" this car, to be honest never really started. Only have done things that it has needed (maintenance) and then things that I thought is appropriate for a car to have: M3 steering w/ tri stitch, heated seats retrofit because farting takes too long, weighted M sport shifter and e60 540i short shifter retrofit, Dynavin navi installation because I wanted bluetooth, navi, etc, M3 mirrors because someone paralled parked into my driver's side and torn it off so it was fitting as an upgrade.
Car is by far my favorite, once spring/summer hits, I might install the M3 rear end that I have sitting around along with the BBK that I have for the car lol.

Yup! Was a fairly easy install to do. Just pop out the two trim pieces in the front, make sure you do it from the bottom with a PLASTIC (do not use a screwdriver or you will damage the trim, possibly bend/break it). Sometimes the red pieces that are in the dashboard break that hold the trim in place, the dealer has them for $1.50 each (6 if you break all of them upon removal). There's an online instruction kit on how to do the install, and it's pretty straight forward. You'd need the navi center console bracket, to relocate the A/C controls ($60 bucks iirc).
Hardest part of the install was cramming all the wiring in there, make sure most of it goes the upper left of the vents, then you want all your other wiring on top of the actual unit itself so that once it is inside, if any of it comes loose it will be a breeze to figure out and also make further adjustments if you have to do any additional additions (if u wanna add backup cam, sub, outputs, etc).
I'd say that is probably my favorite mod to date. (jk V1 by 1000x) Nothing better than having a decade old car read your texts while you are driving, asking you if you want to reply/ignore, while at the same time bluetoothing/streaming music, providing navigation so you don't get lost or use your phone. Also have an iphone charger. Dynavin is legit!! Make sure you use Jeff from E46 forums as he is by far the best vendor and is on top of his game. Gf drops her panties everytime she gets in my car.

Possible BMW driver checking in.
Depending on the outcome of my current job situation (may be promoted and get a decent raise) I'm thinking about leasing a 320i xDrive. Good fuel economy with just enough get up and go. Many say they like it because the engine doesn't overpower the chassis and creates a "pure" experience.GO BROWNS!

I own an 80's 635csi. It's my project car, haven't driven it in 2 years. Once the winter is over, I'm bringing it back to shape. I wish it was manual tho. :-/
Dec 2013 - 220. Jan 15th 2014 - Decided to lose some weight. Feb 13th - 212lbs.
I'm on the common sense get in shape lifestyle, there's no special diet or workout.

Go on forums.. m30 manual swap are always FS, only costs about 500.. but TBH You will probably end up buying most stuff new anyway..I bought an entire swap but ended up buying 70% of the items new, was nice to have the old stuff to reference though. It's one thing to read about it, and another to actually hold it in your hand.
This is what you need
3.5ton rapid low profile floor jack from harbor freight - recommended
6 ton jackstands from Harborfreight x 4... or if you want find some place that sells the pin type, people feel safer under them, but with properly set up ratchets are fine, or if you want to be baller, buy a in home lift.. will make your life 100x easier lol.
3/8 and 1/2 Drive Ratchet
Socket set, got mine at sears.. wait till holiday so its cheap..I got the big toolbox that also comes with a set of wrenches..
you need about 20" worth of extensions.. get 10" for both the 3/8 and 1/2.. and then a few small ones to medium ones.
Socket size adapters
Socket angle adapters
Deep Box End Wrenches ( You need these, and they have come in handy more than I can count for other stuff) Got a nice set from sears goes from 10-19 I think.
E-Torx socket bits.. I think you can get them at most hardware stores, got mine at Advance auto I think..
A nice breaker bar
Torque wrench
I think thats everything I used.. wish I had a three car garage..
I got most my stuff from sears because craftsman is alright in my book, and HF is too far a drive away, sears is only 5minutes for me.zombie survival Charlie squad
