Day 11
11/6/2007
Upper
DUMBBELL ROWS
Warmup Set(s): 50x10
70x8
70x8
70x8
70x6
Mind-to-Muscle Connection was dead on today with these. I was amped up and dialed in and was able to get 3 straight sets with the 70's and a 4th set with only 6. Nevertheless was still able to hold the contraction and stretch. Will stay at this weight and climb in the reps.
INCLINE BARBELL BENCH PRESS
Warmup Set(s): 95x5
115x5
115x5
115x5
115x5
115x5
Honestly not sure if I did 5 or 6 sets with these. Still light weight here, will go for 125 next time.
CHIN-UPS
BWx8
Good for a change from the conventional Pull-Up. Shouldn't have gone straight from the Inclines to this w/o rest, might have been able to knock 2 more down.
HAMMER STRENGTH SHOULDER PRESS
55x10
75x10
80x5
The starting weight is 10 lbs on each side (I'm assuming each side). First time doing these, luckily I was working in with this guy who was using his working weight. I started off with just a 55 and it easy so I bumped it up to 75 lbs and then again to 80 lbs. On the last set, I did 1 rep on each side and then did them together and repeat until I stopped at 5 reps total.
OVERALL: Strong Mind-to-Muscle Connection, couldn't have asked for more.
MISC: School blood drive is tomorrow, so I did tomorrow's workout today. Didn't realize how much a pint of blood was until 30 minutes before today's workout and decided it would be best to hammer the weights today.

Hehe, thanks. It's def. subject to change as time goes on. I'll add and remove as my body adjusts. You mean the color and centering? I love that too lol. Diet is looking reasonably ok IMO. Typical stuff: oatmeal, chicken, natural bread, rice, yogurt, cottage cheese, milk, protein powders, etc. Just not much variety if any, but that doesn't bother me much at all. I will occasionally have the cheat "meal" or cheat item.

Day 12......DEADLIFTS GALORE!
11/8/2007
Lower
DEADLIFTS
Warmup Set(s): 135x5; 185x5
245x5
245x5
245x5
245x5
245x5
I'm shocked; these were pretty easy today. Every rep was held at the top for about 2-3 seconds. I'm finally learning to fully utilize my legs in this exercise and as a result this weight was no problem at all. Will go for 255 next time.
LEG PRESS
Warmup Set(s): 135x10 (2 Plates total); 225x10 (4 Plates total)
315x8 (6 Plates total)
405x1 (8 Plates total)
315x6 (6 Plates total)
I did these instead of Walking Lunges today just for a change of pace.
SEATED LEG PRESS
400x10 (Stack)
I honestly didn't plan on doing these, but two of my friends wanted to see me rep the stack (or try to). Suprisingly, I got it.
OVERALL: Great workout. I really enjoyed the Deadlifts. The added Leg Press and Seated Leg Press were fun too. I look forward to next Deadlift day! Also, music is a GREAT motivator, I will def. always train with it, if I can remember to bring it everytime.

Day 13
11/10/2007
Upper
FLAT DUMBBELL BENCH PRESS
Warmup Set(s): 30x12
60x5
60x8
60x5
I was disappointed to say the least.
T-BAR ROWS
Warmup Set(s): 35x5; 90x5
115x5
115x5
115x5
115x5
115x5
Did these for the first time with reasonable weights. Didn't know what weight was optimal at this point, so I just added until it felt right. These were still pretty easy; will go for 125 next time.
DIPS
BWx11
Nothing new to say here!
HAMMER STRENGTH PULLDOWNS
Warmup Set(s): 45x10
70x10
70x8
90x3
The Low Row was taken so I did these instead; it works out because I wanted to try these anyway. This pulldown was awesome. I will continue to pyramid the weights.
CARDIO
12 mins on the Elliptical.
OVERALL: Decent workout. Wasn't really energized when I walked in to begin with for some reason. Oh well, just looking forward to next time.

My lower body is sore as hell from Saturday; I went to my church's picnic and played about 4 hrs worth of football. I'm never ran so much before for that long; even when my legs were giving out on me, I kept on running. Now, I wish that I didn't even go
, I wasn't thinking about the Squats that I would have to do tomorrow. I have a very good tolerance for pain IMO, I hardly ever grimace or anything when in pain that most people might find terrible, but I've never felt this much pain in a very long time. Getting out of my car is hard as hell! I'll see how I feel tomorrow and decide whether or not to go to the gym.

Day 14..........Thumbs Down
11/12/2007
Lower
SQUATS
Warmup Set(s): 95x12; 135x10
175x13
175x9
175x9
Well, I'm disappointed with today's Squat numbers. Saturday's horrible DOMS was def. a factor in today's workout, but it's no excuse IMHO. Will have to try harder and go for 180 lbs next time.
SINGLE LEG EXTENSIONS
Warmup Set(s): NONE
60x10/10
90x10/10
Added these today for some light assistance work. The poundages were pretty easy.
SINGLE-LEG CURLS
Warmup Set(s): NONE
40x6/6
I supersetted this one set with the Single Leg Extensions to kill some time between the sets. Felt good, but my hamstrings are really weak, and I know that a few more reps and a charlie horse or two would be coming my way.
OVERALL: Weak Squats is all I can say.
Mike
