We as a society are no longer religious and it is the religious books that tell people to get married, be faithful, have kids, divorce being looked down upon etc. We don't follow religion as a society anymore so we go with whatever we want. Multiple partners, divorce if things get tough because there are so many options out there etc.

Another one is society tells us "there are no losers anymore", people receive participation awards which goes against our primitive instincts. As a result we have so many cucked people in the world that don't know how to deal with rejection once they leave school. Instead they will just stick to social media, Netflix and porn out of fear of rejection. Constant porn well we know what that leads to already.

Others are focused on being successful and as a result don't have time for a relationship or they are in one but don't have the time to spend with their partner so their partner will either cheat or the guy working in an office for 60+ hours and working late nights with a hot colleague will end up cheating.

As for what is causing the trend in OP, men as a group have f*cked over other men. Women used to chase men. Idk i went out for 3 years straight and socialized basically day and got nothing. 6'1 190 lbs lean and a full head of hair. So i would say you definitely have to do more than just put yourself out there.
