We saw a spark of United playing attractive football last season during that run of games where we beat Spurs, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Man City, not only did we win all four games comprehensively but we played really well. Otherwise the football was dry but effective, what got us 4th last season was the style of football that gave us that unbeaten run between the Man City loss and the Southampton loss. I feel like we're playing very similarly to that period with possession football without any penetration.
It'd odd that LVG targeted fast, creative players but let go of Di Maria (granted he had to) and Januzaj whilst only signing Depay, that's a lot of pressure on his shoulders and I think it's showing. Martial can help with his pace but I don't know how big a role he'll be playing this season, it's up to the coaches to work out what's best for his development.
I get that winning is more important to the club but football is entertainment primarily and United's football is the least exciting it's been for a long time. Hopefully LVG can get back to that short period of wonderful football we played last season but I'm not holding my breath.Man Utd <3

LVG actually putting out a side to play some football. Properly excited for this now. Tons of pace and ability to take on a man in the front 4, with Mata playing as a #10! I think he is taking a risk putting Martial there, but it could certainly pay off. Midfield looks light so i suspect LVG is expecting much less physicality and a more technical game.

Wonder how much BT had to pay for the sole broadcasting rights. Wonder how long they have it for. It's a bold move.
