2014 Fantasy Basketball Advice Thread

Nice team. Keep in mind if Clippers are healthy J Craw may not be as valuable as past seasons. He has yet to sign that extension he's been wanting with the Clips also, so he could go contract year mode, he beasted in pre-season. He is 34 going on 35 though, so there's that...Inb4 he goes HAM all year




The Rooster is coming off a year plus long injury so expect some ups and downs. I feel good about him though, hopefully he can produce like year's past and just struggle a little at the beginning of the season and stay healthy.

Plumlee is a good last round pick for sure. If Len goes another year on INJ/Bench, he will give u those decent to good C numbers all year long.

Many thanks. I was surprised to see Crawford in the 10th round. I was at the Clippers-Jazz game and Crawford absolutely killed the Jazz. The guy has been pretty solid for the Clippers the past two seasons and I felt like I needed another SG at that point in the draft & it's nice he can play PG also in the event Paul gets hurt (fantasy team-wise - don't know if he would actually start for the Clippers if Paul got hurt) and Lin isn't playing playing for the Lakers on a particular day.

Rate my 12 team draft. To be honest i think i did alright, i actually strayed away from my usual strategy because this league will be secondary to my main one. Got lucky with the first pick overall and got the fantasy king. First few picks were really strong imo and my late picks were relatively weak barring a few players.

If Curry or Davis is available take them. After that I'd say Westbrook and CP3 are equally good imo. CP3 is probably a better because he replaces Westbrook's scoring and FTs with rarer categories such as assists and steals. Plus he's pretty much guaranteed to have less than 3 TOs/game

This is a points league btw not categories! If that changes anything. Would love to take davis and I think curry will be available. But I think 1-3 may go 1-3. I know the 3rd guy hates curry though lol.

Is our scoring standard? Losing points for missed shots and FT? I thought that was weird. Made me scared to take guys like Drummond, Dwight, and Jordan.

I took green with my Last pick Bc Im super weak at SF without Durant.

Should I hold on to smart with all my other PG's?

KD/Pek for CP3/DDR isn't bad. You'll be really weak in rebounds though. Pek is huge on the offensive boards.

Tbh in normal h2h leagues i'd say keep KD but in your case it might be best that you trade him. You'll become a lot stronger in assists and steals.

Foye was just a garbage time pickup. Really wasn't much left that i liked so i just said fuk it and finished my draft. Don't really want to trade Rondo. Really like his all around numbers. If the trade works out i'll be elite in rebounds, steals, assists, and blocks; above average in FG%, 3ptm; and average-below average in points, TOs, and FT%.

Keeping Rondo will really only hurt me unless I can get some great value in return. I'm projecting something like 13/11/6/1.7stls from Rondo, those are tough numbers to replace.

Might trade away Timmy though because Pop gonna Pop, he'll probably only play 25min/game and will be resting often.

maybe you could trade both bron bron and timmy d away. looking at the playoffs the cavs play the least amount of games (iirc)

i'm not much of a fan of irving this year, I think he loses the most touches out of LBJ/Love. Not worth the high pick imo (strong Cousins/Ibaka though). Wade is another player I'm staying away from, because of his nagging injuries

I'd pick up Trey Burke and drop Ross, and Draymond (drop Daniels)

other guys I like include Beverley, Olynyk, Bradley, and Green..but there's no one else i'd drop

what do you think of my team yuja? 9th pick, 12 teams, standard scoring. Melo was the best avail at the 9th, but thinking back I probably should have taken Durant maybe. But Ibaka fell to me in the 2nd so I went heavy on the blocks. I tried to choose high risk/upside players.
