"I could take it or leave it" is similar to "couldn't care less" because it implies lack of interest.
"COULD care less" implies that there is a certain level of caringfrom the person saying it, which would be like saying "I care about this". They mean different things."When I die, I hope it's early in the morning so I don't have to go to work that day for no reason"

Take it or leave it could also imply a certain level of interest, since they're willing to take it. They could just say "Leave it". Could care less is generally assumed that the level of interest is low to begin with, since it's usage is common and always used in an apathetic situation. Thus it's context derives different meaning than the sum of the words. The phrase itself is nonsensical, but so are many phrases. Pissed off being one such example

It'd be like preparing your entire life to bang 100 chicks in a row, getting tan, hitting the gym, making sure your hair looks right and reading the Kama Sutra, only to realize when you get there that you're gay and cannot get hard in the presence of women.

Not necessarily hug the guy, but be as considerate to some guy crying. And you would most likely come across as creepy if you you put your arm around a random girl anyway. And I'm not being naive, just pointing out that you treat men and women differently - you are the one who said you have a protective urge towards women, not men, regardless of differences in interaction.

It really annoys me when on the rare occassion I stay at work during lunch (which is at a universal time in the military for us and civilians alike usually) because I don't feel like driving home and people hover over me asking questions while I'm clearly stuffing my face and am not about to stop eating or get up and help them. I sit here 9 hours a day and you people can't wait 15 minutes for me to finish eating.

I think we're mixing things up here.
"Could care less" is similar to "Take it or Leave it"
"Couldn't care less" is NOT the same as either of those phrases....
HOWEVER, I have never once heard the phrase "Could Care Less" used properly if that is, in fact, what people mean. Every time I hear "Could care less" it is being used incorrectly in place of "Couldn't care less"."When I die, I hope it's early in the morning so I don't have to go to work that day for no reason"

It doesn't have the intended meaning though. The phrase "I couldn't care less" suggests that you care so little that there is no way you could possibly care any less, but "I could care less" means you do actually care a bit.
This grinds my gears too.
Also people who bullsheet. (and swear filters)
Edit: Oops, I left this thread open before going to the gym and just got back and replied without refreshing so I didn't see the million posts. I thought I was driving the bandwagon but apparently I'm lying on the floor face down a couple of miles behind itLast edited by AlwaysBeShepard; 01-16-2013 at 11:29 AM.

You know what grinds my ****ING GEARS??? LVISAA2.
You son of a bitch. After reading your post, I started hugging every random girl I saw.
WELL GUESS WHAT MOTHER ****ER?? Now I have a restraining order from 3 different women, ONE OF THEM LIVES IN MY APARTMENT COMPLEX. So now I'm living out of the back of my car until I can find a new place.
Also, turns out one of them was 15. Now I'm a registered sex offender and can't go within 150ft of day cares.
Who cares right? Why do I need to go to day cares??
WELL MOTHER ****ER, TURNS OUT MY GIRLFRIEND IS PREGNANT. And guess what? We both go to school, so we are going to need a daycare. AND GUESS WHO CAN'T GO NEAR ONE?? BINGO, ****STICK.
So she left me to raise MY BABY without me because she also thinks it will be better if my child didn't know it's dad is a sex offender.
So **** you, LVISSA. You ruined my goddamn life.
On a serious note, Ice Cream Fitness' new sense of grandeur tussles my tassels pretty hard.Transformation Journal:
