You mirin my 200 year old GT?
Ya, you mirin.
Actually busted it a while back and haven't ridden since. Can anyone recommend a good site for used rigs? Or should I just look locally?

Any suggestions for a beginning rider? Mostly just simple flat trails, some road riding, etc. Don't want to spend over $500, obviously the cheaper the better.
Also, please click and vote for me. I entered into Country Club Prep's ******** promotion. $500 to the winner.

Yo, brahsephs. Been having some sick weather where I'm at. Been getting a day or two of rain a week then 70-80 degrees the rest of the week for about a month now. Been doing so much building latey! sun up to sun down build sessions. Here's the most recent sht we've been building.

Since the vid was shot, the landing got built for that 20' right hip and a reroute where I did that sweet skid out. Just need to bring the dirt bikes up there to cut in the singletrack linking up the two sections then move down to the middle section and build it out. Hope you fellas are getting some riding in!
Yo Volta, when are you and Larry rollin out to Cali to ride?"The universe vibrates to the frequency of love."

Sea Otter was pretty sick this year! Haven't been the past two years and the Event felt like it doubled in size.
Watched DH and dual. SAT/Sun. We sat at the Wood drop for the Beginners/Sport. Saw some guy pull up way to early and he flew over the bars. Ended up doing a Scorpion into the uphill landing of the drop. I thought he broke his back, guy was making crazy sounds was frikkin horrible. I'd rather jump out a car doing 50 then do what he did.
The Pros were Boss as always.

Alright guys, I just moved to Salt Lake City and I'm really wanting to get into mountain biking. Problem is, I have no idea what I'm doing and no idea what to look for in a bike. I'm looking to buy something used likely, as I really don't want to spend over $500 because I'm only here for 8 months and I don't want to waste money on something so short term. I also don't know what else I need in terms of gear, and where I can go to ride. I went hiking this weekend and there's no way I could have ridden the trail I hiked, I don't know if there are certain trails just for riding.
Any help is appreciated, glad I found this thread!Auburn Tigers

My personal opinion is never buy a used bike because there are great deals on new ones. Used bikes can be really sloppy and are usually beat to hell.
For under $500 I would recommend a Trek 3500. http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes...es/3500_disc/#
I've always liked the frame quality of the Treks vs. what you pay for them. Pretty hard to beat.
All you really need is a helmet, some gloves and a decent pair of shorts. I like baggies with a padded liner. I also recommend a Camelbak for water because you can also carry tools and stuff in it.

They look pretty sweet. I haven't trail ridden a 29er yet but I know a few guys who swear by them. One of the things I like about the Trek frames is the top tube usually has a good drop to it so you get more nut clearance when you come off the seat.
If money is no object I would be looking at Transition frames though, those are so nice.
