Alright - Since everyone here has had such a large part in this auction, I want to get some feedback.
What if we did a raffle auction - J and I would put together stacks (30 or so), list the stacks, and then allow everyone to purchase raffle tickets:
$10 = 1 Ticket
From there, once all donations are in, we raffle off the stacks with a random number generator.

I dont think you would get near the money you are hoping for.
I think you should let George help on ********, anything George does turns out very successful. And the Google checkout would be best
for payment because the cost is cheaper. And Illa should not be paying shipping out of pocket, he should take back the costs from the
money earned from auction and then give the family the balance.
Oh and there is also Amazon auctions, maybe that would be a good thing, Ill check it out and report back. ( doesn't appear to be around anymore )

IMO people would pay or bid more for a specific stack.
If the bid amounts were public I think the final selling prices would be higher.
The ******** idea sounds good. And honesty it takes 5 minutes to create a profile, same as it would to open and eBay account."Evidently Mr. Ringo's an educated man. Now I really hate him."

Was that just a helpful post?
I took a look at google checkout. They also have an online store that allows you to list products/prices in a spreadsheet and purchase through there.
I'll take a look at the webstore market place. Looks like they're sponsor supported which is good. I do appreciate the help.
The good thing about a raffle is that anyone can donate, no matter the donation amount... with wristbands coming in, I could probably send wristbands to everyone who donated so that everyone comes out a winner. It wouldn't be as personal since you wouldn't be choosing your specific product but we did fairly well with the previous raffles that I ran for MN (3k+)Team HALEO

Seems like a pretty good thing here, glad I could help out and get some product in... Now I only wish my wife didn't blow $300 at the grocery store on my chicken and beef or else I'd actually bid on something as well...
For those complaining about the "high" bid and all that... If you're not familiar with a SILENT auction, that's what this is/was... At a silent auction you only know the value of the product. 100 can bid and you don't know who or how much. The highest bid wins. The product value is given out to give people a baseline of what to expect. You know most won't bid over, or too high over, but you also should know you're probably not going to win if you bid $25 on $300 worth of product.Professional Wrestler

I will participate in whatever format you guys go with, but if the goal is to make as much money as possible for Joey's family (and I think that is the goal) I think a different format would probably suit you better, and definitely go with Google Checkout instead of Paypal. I'll be watching because I see quite a few things on that list I'd like to get my hands on.
