finally hit it big with TGT calls, then panic sold at open to lock in profits and missed out on additional $20k
that feels almost worse than losing money, when you're right about a stock play but sell at absolute worst time possible.
looking to scale into SPY on dips now, can't handle these risky ER gambles

also anyone here every wait till the end of the year to invest? I heard most companies do their writeoff at the end of the year so historically speaking their stocks usually go down in december

Yes but you can’t get caught up looking at high dividends.
SPYD is up measly 4% past year with 5% dividend.
SPY is up 17% past year with 2% dividend.
(Approximate robinhood numbers)
So would you rather have 9% or 19%?? Easy choice there.
SPYD barely moves if you want high dividends you’d be better off picking undervalued companies like MO (7% div) Pfizer (4%) that have a lot of room to grow.
Regardless of all that, this is most likely very close to the top I wouldn’t just dump $200k in the market now when you could be down 20% by middle of next year if we hit a recession. Average in or just wait and buy on dips.

well i just bought 100k of SWPPX did i dun goof?
in my opinion i think it depends on whether or not Trump can finish this U.S.-China Trade Pact ...if we can do that i think the market will continue to go up for aawhile
did u look at the beta? SPYD is a safer investment in a low interest rate environment. SPYD is also more insulated and has less volatilityLast edited by VegasLifter26; 11-20-2019 at 04:00 PM.

if you still got the other 100k u be aight, can average down if we have a big drop
I guess I can understand SPYD being safer but I mean it barely moves, so either way the market goes in the next 10 years if you own SPYD its going to have very little impact on your porfolio. If you're that worried about safe investments why not just get 2% money market account.
I'd rather put money on big name dividend stocks like AT&T, Pfizer, MO, etc if I wanted somewhat "safer" portfolio with potential to actually make some gainz.

how's the centrally planned market treating everyone?
You can walk outside and listen to all kinds of talk, get told you're a god or a total bastard. The iron always kicks you the real deal. It's the great reference point, the all-knowing perspective giver. I have found it to be my greatest friend. It never freaks out on me, never runs. Friends may come and go. But 200 pounds is always 200 pounds.

same here. buying dividend payers. Not sure why oil is going up while other cyclical commodities remain in the chit.

Bought 5k shares of ADMP @ .72 back in late October. Was supposed to be an FDA PDUFA Oct 31, but nothing yet. Stocks climbing hard lately though around 1.30 today. Expecting FDA approval anytime now and a significant jump in share price.

Keep in mind i purchased it at market
