If I was someone who was smart enough to get into BTC a week or so ago before all the ALTs started tanking - I would ditch BTC well before the fork, I find it hard to believe it's going to be a fantasy land like it was with BTC Cash where everyone just gets free money dumped in their lap. Someone has to get ****ed here.

Anyone who buys Bitcoin gold For bitcoin will be ****ed I imagine. Just like anyone who bought BCC for $800ish of bitcoin.
Hard to say. Part of me thinks it might only climb to around $5,500-$5,900. Another part of me thinks if there's enough press coverage it could reach $7k. Day by day people getting alerted to crypto, and BTC new highs is what alerts the most new people.Last edited by Contribution05; 10-09-2017 at 03:11 PM.

Even at an ATH i wanna buy some btc to get in on cheap alts. But it just feels so wrong fk, when this has all settled we are going to see a scramble from btc into cheap alts, im thinking we are gonna see some big mooning on the influx.
If people withdraw to fiat however hmmm...

So will bitcoin gold be given to those that also have bitcoin at the time or to those that bought bitcoin a certain time ago before the fork?

I think we'll see 4400-4500 again then go straight to 5400 for an ATH in the couple weeks

Didn't see this posted. Reddit article saying just how much of a scam bitcoin gold is. Mindblown that the distribution of it was supposed to be a snapshot from block 487427 which happend sept 28th, which I am sure they will change but sounds even scammier than I thought.

I got 159k LRC. Somebody hold me. These bags are fukking heavy. Not sure if should drop another 2 BTC so I can have 200k loops.
I think the worst part is I told my friend to buy in and now I gotta hear from him every fukking day about it. When I got in OMG at .40 I didn’t tell anybody and the lows didn’t affect me because there were no liabilities in terms of other people. Anybody know these feels?

yep...I told my bro and a friend to get in on LRC. they both still have their bags, I sold mine for a loss. feelsbadman. Though I still think long term they will come out ahead, just ugly right now and I'm hoping to buy my bags back even lower priced. So either I get back in with more bags for cheap, or I miss the boat and at least the 2 people I told to invest come out ahead.

You didn’t want to just hold your bags and buy more cheaper (either with your $$ or crypto), lowering your buy in price? I mean if they get listed on other exchanges by November, then the flood gates for $$ to pour in are open, which it may very well once BTC drama is over.
Now it’s hard because HitBTC is somewhat known but somewhat obscure (compared to bittrex or binance), so we’re trading with the super “in the know” crypto traders atm, but if listed on other exchanges then more
normie cryptopians can get involved
I sounded deluded as fukk. We’ll see what happens

I've put as much cash towards crypto as I'm comfortable doing. With that amount I have a set amount of money I was willing to put towards LRC (Rest is currently holding BTC/ETH/WTC), so it was either hold my current bags or sell at a loss and hope to buy back at a lower amount. I really think BTC is going to keep going up for the next week which means alts will be cheaper and cheaper to convert to if i'm right.

You guys think Bitmex phucks with their order book? Today I had a 10x long @ 4820, and it was crawling up slowly, and then instantly it shot to 4900+ while other exchanges were still ~4830. My theory is there were so many shorts that they used their own stack of USDT/BTC to spike the price to liquidate people.

They claim it has no replay protection. If it is true it means that when you try to send your bitcoin gold from your wallet to an exchange, you could be sending your actual btc at the same time without realizing.
What do you mean 1:1? Bitcoin Gold definitely wont be worth as much as Bitcoin Cash was. You have to understand what is the reason for these forks. Bitcoin Cash exists because it was a last resort to keep the "original" version of bitcoin without segwit. Many people wanted to avoid segwit at all cost and some of the people supporting this have deep pockets from being some of the earliest investors in bitcoin. On the other hand this gold fork came out of nowhere and with all the shady ****/premine going on how is it going to get much support. Who is at all interested in it, who are the buyers going to be when everyone dumps it? Of course the market is so retarded who knows what will happen.
Man you have some serious balls. I sincerely hope you make it. If there is any reason to this market OMG should at least make it into the top 10 if not top 5. It's one of the only new coins I can see surviving in the long term. FFS even bitconnect = an actual ponzi scheme is worth over 1b right now.
Hah, you mean r/bitcoin? The discussion there is not representative of the whole community. If you don't believe me, try posting anything positive about S2X or bigger than 1MB blocks and see how long it takes before they remove your comments, ban you or shadowban you. However some miners have been saying they are going to dedicate 50/50 mining power to B1X and B2X so looks like both coins might actually exist for some time. What a mess.

yea there's some crazy drama around that..
can't remember which. but I remember that one of the bitcoin reddits, either r/bitcoin or r/btc are the original.
and the original has members of the dev team on it or ties into it? and the moderator on r/bitcoin bans any bad talk about bitcoin
which caused a lot of the community to create r/btc

It may not be representative of the whole community but I think they have shown enough evidence to support that there will be a fork since it's not just going to be an upgrade everyone's going to accept. BTG everyone assumes will be a complete fail and shouldn't dilute bitcoins value much if anything at all. the S2X fork has 2 communities both wanting the title of being called "Bitcoin" with no different label. This is going to cause havoc on bitcoins price. I just don't know if it will skyrocket the price as people will want to hold it to have both or if people will be sketched out by the whole thing, sell off their BTC before the fork and have the price just plummet.
Sadly bitcoin and these forks really fuk with the whole crypto market.

r/bitcoin is the original and it used to be very good years ago but then the moderator started abusing his powers. First, hiding the comment scores and sorting the threads by controversial, and then deleting posts and banning users. All the banned users then moved to r/btc. Now both of them are bad. One is censored and manipulated, and the other seems to care too much about bitcoin cash.
Yeah that's the problem, many devs and some users wont accept it, and now even the miners seem having problems deciding. At this point I don't even care which wins as long as it doesn't take the whole damn market down with it.
