any lowcarb/highfat or keto runners here... curious because about 2 weeks ago i changed up my diet to go full on keto (30c/170f/140p from 330c/40f/140p) and for me atleast my running has improved greatly, and even lost weight (guessing mostly water weight atm). It also seems like I never hit that wall.

Did my 3rd 5K yesterday, got to 26:59 and roughly 8 pounds lighter than last months, so progression so far in the past 2 months has been 252 bw 31min, 235 bw 29 min, 224 bw 26:59.
Not sure when the next one will be, I want to work on increasing my mileage per week for a few months and usually I can't run a few days before/after a 5K. But happy with the progress, thanks brahs!Last edited by BtchW8; 05-29-2016 at 03:14 PM.

which GPS watch do all of you guys that have one use?
I know its not a full on runners watch, but been eyeballing the vivoactive HR and the forerunner 235... kind of leaning to the vivoactive just because its more of a all around smart watch.Runner Crew (48.6 miles Dopey Challenge -- Completed)

I bought a 2nd hand garmin forerunner 405 and worked well....basic but that's all I needed. Unfortunately the battery won't last more than 2 hours now so will look for something newer now. Suunto for me I think.
Sam diego marathon in 4 days...nerves kicking in now but excited.
Also did some shipping at an asics outlet store and damn we get ripped off royally on everything*Cluster Headache Crew* If you also suffer and need help/advice on it, PM me

good luck on the SD marathon, I've done the RnR SD marathon it was one of my favorites, lot of drunkards passing out booze and such, and when you hit little mexico...just heavenly smelling.
edit: i know alot of people dont like runnersworld and even less like the treadmill here but daaaaayyyyyuuum. its hard enough running a 10k on a treadmill.
Twelve hours into the run, Proctor had completed 139.2 kilometers, or 86.49 miles, besting the previous 12-hour treadmill record, set in February, by 6.3 kilometers.
Then he kept going.
Twelve hours later, he had his second record. In covering 260.4 kilometers (161.81 miles), he outdistanced the mark of 160.24 miles set in 2004. To do so, he had to average about 8:54 per mile.Last edited by jubjubrsx; 06-02-2016 at 03:34 PM.

Last year, I almost bought vivoactive instead of the forerunner 225. The only reason stopped me from buying vivoactive was the overwhelming report of lagging issue in the forum which I abhor. I can't imagine having to deal with the lag issue like the one I have with S3.
Forerunner 225 is a nice running watch. I get to read cadence(spm), heart rate (HR zone/bpm), distance, timer and pace while I am running, especially now that I am trying to work on my cadence. It motivates me to take part in more runs, as I get to see the very minimal improvement that I made in each run. There are also workouts that you can download, too.

Anybody have recommendations on a lifting routine to follow so I can recover, my deadlifts seem to be suffering. Went from 315x4 to maybe 2 on a good day (though I've lost 30 pounds).
Run and lift MWF on the treadmill around 3 miles each - Friday is more of a light paced easy jog MW are a little more up tempo.
Saturday is a long run 12-13 miles.
T,Th I do kettlebell work.
Would like to train for Half Marathon.
Appreciate any advice, Thank you.I'm an introvert trying to be an extrovert.

This might interest you; http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/tra...training.html/
TBH, I don't think you need to worry that much about a HM unless you are looking to race it.
I personally subscribe to Coach Jay's philosophy, easy days easy, hard days hard. So I just do my weights after cardio. Usually a morning run then weights in the evening. Long run is a workout in itself but I'd do some BW stuff after. Run 5-6 days a week. 3-4 days easy, 1 day long and 1 quality sesh a week.
So for your case, depending on how intense your KB work is, I'll just do your lifts on MWF.You can't get much done in life if you only work on the days when you feel good.

Of course Lyle, I don't why I didn't think Lyle. Thanks.
I want to Race a half.
I want to PL
I want to compete KB (although it's really hard to find in NC)
Ideally I would be into morning run and afternoon weights, but in the city I hate dealing with traffic.
KB training is short but intense, usually more upper body than lower. Just a 15:15 protocol of snatches.I'm an introvert trying to be an extrovert.

You gotta choose 1 and prioritize it. sorta like periodization mang.
I wouldn't advise alex viada stuff though. I mean it looks sexaye and stuff, but his claims are..... let's say dubious.
perhaps you can check out crossfit endurace, at least he has some credible results. You can't get much done in life if you only work on the days when you feel good.

Stopped running on the treadmill, ran outside again for the second time. I'm not running as consistent as I use to, usually going weeks at a time before I run again since I dropped a good amount of weight. I could only manage 1 mile in 8:42 before my breathing went down hill. The last time I ran outside it was 9:22/mile for 3 miles with various breaks in between. Going to try and run more often not sure how long it will be before I adapt to running outside.
I never try anything I just do it!
