Yo Cyde, how long are you setting beers in the french press when you do coffee and other additions? Have a massive bag of coffee I need to start using, figured I'd mess around a bit.

Depends if you use grinds or whole beans. I've had better experience soaking coffee in whole beans since it imparts nice flavor without bittering the beer and leaching too much oil. For a 12oz bottle of BCBS, I usually add 16g beans and let 6oz of beer sit for 20 minutes before blending it with fresh beer for carbonation. Adjuncts like toasted coconut, cacao nibs, and especially vanilla bean would need hours.

Ah, cool. I grew up in Pasadena. I'm gonna have to keep an eye out for that Yeti then. Or maybe even any of them really. Don't think I've had any of them in a couple years.

Not too shabby at all; you hardly notice the booze until the finish. Lots of depth to the flavor, lots of typical quad notes and then bourbon barrel - raisin/caramel/toffee/candi sugar/charred wood/vanilla/Bourbon/oak - but I don't think I could have drank the whole bottle myself (unlike Black Eye / Pumpkyn / Rumkin / etc).

Tried MBC Weez last night. Didn't do it for me. Strong coffee/toasted flavors overpowered the hops. It was nice but the hoppiness was real muted. Still a well constructed beer, just not my thing.

Also tried Terrapin Moo Hoo. Damn good choc milk stout. Super smooth.

I saw this all over cleveland this weekend but didn't touch it. Have generally been let down by two bros except for their one sour which was awesome.

Yeah, that would be rough. I'm not sure you can make a good gluten free beer though. Maybe you should try. I've thought about trying to make a light mead and hopping and carbing that to see what happens.
