Thanks Snake!
So yesterday was a complete off-day filled with lots of sightseeing and activity. We visited several points of interest in Romania, including Bran Castle (home of the Dracula legend). Also visited a fortress from the 1400s which was just so epic. The view from atop the fortress of the surrounding country were amazing. After sightseeing all morning and afternoon, we went to a co-worker's Christening for his daughter, which was more like how weddings are in the US. There was plenty of food, drink and dancing and everyone had so much fun!
Today it's back to work though. Went to the grocery store here in Romania and managed to pick up some fruit, energy drinks, protein bars and the like. All things that don't require cooking or refrigeration since my accomodations are sparse. Going down to the hotel gym later this afternoon for chest/biceps and a solid dose of cardio. Then I plan on soaking in the hot tub for a good bit as well.
Working Mon-Thurs and then Friday @2AM I have to leave for Bucarest airport and the flight home. I'm so excited and can't wait to get back and see my family as well as train hard in my home gym for the next 4 weeks!

Did some chest/bicep work this morning and also 25 minutes on the treadmill on a 7-9% incline. Decent workout. Imagining how bad my DOMs are going to be after my first workout back home, having not touched a barbell or dumbbell in 2 weeks. It's going to be painful! Also going without weighing yourself for 2 weeks is unheard of during contest prep. Not very conducive to making progress, that's for sure

So the plan was to go running before work today, except I woke up to a steady rain. Add to it it's about 40F here, right now and I don't have but one think sweat jacket so I'm always cold right now. Also realized in the lobby on the way into work that today is Monday, and of course, the fitness center is closed for cleaning!
Had to leave work a couple hours early because I was feeling nauseous and chills, so I'm stuck inside my room with nothing but 8 Romanian TV channels and now, my sink and tub are spurting brownish/yellow water all of a sudden and there is no hot water.
I miss home.

Thanks everybody for the well wishes! My flight leaves Bucharest, Romania at 6:10 AM on Friday morning, which means I need to get a ride from my hotel, 2 hour drive to the airport, so I will be leaving my hotel in Brasov at 2 AM Friday morning. Flight gets into Philly around 4:30 PM on Friday. Doesn't seem so long because I gain back the 7 hour time difference. I am sure I will be feeling like **** from the jet lag...
Today was much better than yesterday. I did get to the gym before work, hitting triceps and back as best I could and then did 32 minutes on an incline treadmill @ about 5.6 km/h. Felt good.
Looking forward to tomorrow because a coworker of mine is going to take me to the gym he belongs to which seems to have better equipment and even some free weights, so planning on doing some legs and shoulder work. We will see how it goes.
Hanging tough...

Thanks Dean, yes, I will show my co-worker a thing or two in regards to lifting with intensity
You have no idea! This has been the longest time of my life. I only hope that I can get in contest shape with only 4 weeks until the show. Motivation will be very high though and I will definitely not be taking for granted time spent with my family!
Thanks, doing the best I can though I know it's not enough. I feel like I may have maintained my conditioning or maybe even lost a bit, but not too much. Essentially I feel like I've lost 2 weeks that could have been used to further progress my conditioning, but it just means I need to hit it hard when I get home.
I plan on spending some time tonight or tomorrow to draw out a plan for when I get home until the show. I think I will be hitting cardio twice a day (AM before work and some after my lifting session) and also will be hitting legs twice a week. Will see how it all shakes out in the end!

Oh man, you have no idea. I am yearning to squat and deadlift like you wouldn't believe!!!
Tonight I went with my co-worker to his gym. While not even close to my gym back home it was much better than the gym in the hotel. Still no squat rack and only a single barbell, but they did have a decent set of dumbbells. Focused on shoulders and legs mostly and then did 10 minutes on the treadmill, then spent some time in a dry sauna, then a wet (Turkish) sauna, pool and hot tub. I had never been in a sauna before so was happy for the experience. The wet sauna was by far the best though. Workout went something like this:
Side DB Laterals - 3 sets
Front DB Laterals - 3 sets
Rear DB Laterals - 3 sets
Seated Chest Press Machine - 3 sets
Seated Cable Row - 3 sets
Leg Extension - 4 sets
Lying Leg Curls - 3 sets
Abdominal Crunch Machine - 3 sets
This was all in about 30 minutes so quick paced. Tomorrow I may hit the hotel gym at 8 AM and go into work a bit late. Then at 2 AM tomorrow night (Friday morning) the car comes to take me to Bucharest airport and I begin the long trip home....
It's been one of the hardest things I've ever done. I know I have lost some conditioning but am grateful for such an awersome experience here and a new perspective on family and how important they are. Don't ever take your loved ones for granted, that's for sure!

Hey guys, sorry for the delayed update
I did in fact make it back safe and sound from Romania after traveling for about 20 hours in all. Was made extra special in that my wife and son surprised me at the airport, so when I walked out of baggage claim, I heard, "Dada!", and saw them standing there waiting. All my tiredness was forgotten at least momentarily and it was awesome!!
So that was Friday. Needless to say I didn't work out at all. Yesterday, however, I pushed my jet lagged self to get work done, as I have decided to push for the show on Nov. 10th. I was struggling with the decision, simply because I know I won't be the best I can be, but my family really wants me to go through with it so it's time to kick it into high gear!
Chest & Biceps
Barbell Bench Press - 45x15, 135x10, 185x10, 205x7, 225x4
Incline DB Press - 60x10, 65x10, 65x10
Standing DB Curls - 35x10, 35x10, 35x10
DB Flyes - 40x12, 45x10, 50x10
Standing EZ Bar Curls - 85x10, 85x10, 85x10
Cable Crossovers - 50x10, 50x10, 50x9
DB Concentration Curls - 30x10, 30x10, 30x10
Elliptical - 15 minutes on level 6
Treadmill - 15 minutes on 3.8 MPH gradually increased up to incline of 8.0
EVENING
Outside Run 1.8 miles - 8:25/mile pace
Walk to Cooldown 10 minutes
This is just the beginning folks. Felt great to touch some barbells and dumbbells again after being without in Romania for so long. Got legs in an hour and a half. Can't wait to CRUSH it!

Good to hear that everything is going well and that your going ahead with the show. I think when show day comes your going to look back and realize you made the right decision. Kill it hard these next few weeks and you'll do great!

Updated macros
So it's time to get aggressive with the diet in addition to two a day cardio sessions and weights 6 days a week. Probably lose a bit of size since this is faster than I would prefer to have to drop, but looking for 2 lbs per week for each of the next 4 weeks, including peak week, so we will see how it goes.
Protein: 291 grams
Carbs: 164 grams
Fat: 70.5 grams
Totaling about 2280 calories per day.
Heading to the grocery store later today to get some "supplies"

So I went in at 8 AM for a leg workout and OH MY GOD!
First off, I woke up a bit dehydrdated this morning, I guess from all my travels, which resulted in occasional hamstring cramping throughout my workout. Also, I'd say my weights were down a good 20% from 2 weeks ago and squats felt like a ton of bricks. It's only 12 hours later and I'm ridiculously sore. DOMs this week are going to be hell, but I have to pay the piper. Here's how it went...
Barbell Squats: 45x12, 135x10, 225x8, 225x8, 255x6, 275x4
SLDL: 135x10, 225x10, 225x10, 225x10
Leg Press: 400x10, 580x12, 630x10, 650x10, 680x8
Leg Extension: 130x15, 140x15, 150x12, 150x12
Seated Leg Curls: 120x15, 130x14, 130x10
I even did 10 minutes on the elliptical at level 3 at the end of the workout in order to help alleviate the onset of DOMs. Not sure it has helped

Glad to see your back, sorry to hear about the DOMS. Probably take a few dyas to get back into it again.
