I do think eyes are an important part of looks and communication
In terms of looks, some eyes are just more aesthetically pleasing and captivating. I could stare at some eyes all day. That's why I always love drawing eyes first just to feel/see the curves
Then there's something deeper to eyes; eyes can say a lot. You can see anger, a smile, or if someone's dead inside. The saying 'eyes are a window to the soul' comes to mind.

Eyes are definitely important.
Its the first thing you see and one of the main points of contact when interacting. Always work you eyes 2-3 hours in the morning so you're ready for the day.
Mine are pretty good, people usually say 'trustworthy' and gentle. Often that my eyes make them feel safe enough to fall asleep next to... *shrug*
