Bro Im sorry to hear and apologies for derailing your thread but can you describe in a little more detail what you felt?
The reason I ask is because recently Ive been getting this itch in the back of my throat, like regardless of the weather. I've been getting it for almost a year now. Also, in these last couple of weeks my voice has been raspy, and it's taking a lot of wind for me to talk more than before (inb4 puberty jokes). I might be jumping the gun a bit but Im starting to get worried.
In your case though, smash out what you can bro when it comes to goals as well as beating this!

No. These are the worst opinions. You can smoke for 6 months and get cancer that you would possibly never have got otherwise. You can smoke for 80 years and never get anything.
Something goes off in my head when I here someone with the whole "smoked my whole life and never got sick" horsechit as if it somehow proves something.

After I quit smoking and moreso when
I was I would always get a faint cough sort of like you get before your cold gets worse. It would only last about a week and then go away but I would get it every month sometimes twice a month. I never thought anything of it. But when I lost my voice for 2 weeks I couldn't speak or cough even and I could barely put food down because my throat hurt so bad. Thats when I figured something else was wrong. My voice came back but then my cough got A LOT worse. I still can barely eat and have lost 9 pounds in 2 months

Are you aware of how cancer originates? There are numerous checks the cells/immune system go through that have to fail before it can grow freely.
The odds of someone getting cancer at 28 from 4 years of smoking are ridiculous. 4 years of smoking causing cancer in late 50s/60s is more likely. If you are young and otherwise healthy smoking shouldn't cause cancer that soon because your body is still fairly resilient and DNA telomeres are longer and can take the hit. According to the CDC something like 30-40% of colon cancers are directly linked to red meat, but its still rare to see even a heavy meat eater get colon cancer before their 50s.
This just confuses me more, since most cancers are painless. Do you have any more details on the diagnosis?

Was it caught early enough that the risk of dying is minimal? I don't know a lot about cancer but I was under the impression the earlier it's detected the better chance of surviving it

There are people out there that claim the cure to cancer is Vitamin B17, which is found in high concentrations in apricot seeds.
Some also believe baking soda can cure cancer.
You should definitely start doing some research. The problem with chemo and radiation is that neither are cures, just temporary treatment. And not only that, both methods are very harmful to the body. If I were ever diagnosed with cancer, I would look into a natural remedy first."For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Natural remedies are likely a dead end. For example, recently anti-oxidants have been studied to help cancer. In a nutshell anti-oxidants make your cells less resistant to oxidation damage via free radicals, which reduces the chance of getting cancer from DNA damage (yay). The other side of this coin is that cancer cells are also your own cells, and one of your immune systems methods of attack is by oxidation... so you can make your cancer more resilient by strengthening them against your own immune system (boo). I believe this is why you have to keep anti-oxidants low during chemo.
