I don't follow a program. Never really have. Many days I don't know anything more than I'm working chest. When I lay down for the first Rep, I decide after my warmups of the bar, 135 and 225. At that point ill either go for reps or weight or both.
Last week:
135x15
185x15
225x15
275x15
315x15
315x15
275x15
225x15
185x15
135x15
I get a little weight and reps.
Or:
225x10
275x10
315x10
365x7
405x3-5
425x2
455x1
Back down to 315x15
225x20-25
Or I'll just get into a large set of 3 reps with climbing weight.
Or 5 sets of 225 to failure on each set. When I started my goal was 100 reps. Now it's getting closer to 130-140.
My point, I keep the weights and reps mixed up and keep my muscles wondering. I do the same thing with other body parts as well.
Hope that helps. As i get older I am realizing i have to get while the gettings good. I can put stats and PR's up here all day long. But, the main concepts with my workouts....
1. GO BIG OR GO HOME.
2. FORM IS EVERYTHING
3. BREATHE.
