You're not doing it right OP.

If this is a quality man you are interested in you need to at least tell him 1 or 2 of the following:
> "I'm into you"
> "I'd like to chat to you in person soon rather than texting" / "I want to see you"
> Compliment him somehow
> Tell him something you honestly want to do to or with him

It's fine to keep your cards close to your chest and play a little hard to get, but don't go so far that the guy actually thinks you're not interested or not available. A high quality dude is going to move on.

I recently went for a girl. She lived in another city/country 3h away. I found a way to work in that country (via. my job) and see her a few times. I was chatting to her non stop... kind of like falling for each other. In hindsight she was doing this love me n' leave me thing. She kinda tried to break it off twice, but in those instances I immediately called her on the phone and otherwise "got her back" (which I now realize was falling for her game). Sometime last week she told me talking to me was "a waste of time" and she didn't want to "read or respond to your messages"... I went NC but she sent me some more messages to elaborate which I did reply very quickly and shortly before complete NC. She still didn't block me (although she mentioned when she's done with men she goes NC and blocks).
In the end I'm totally cooled off. I never drove more than 15-20 minutes to see a girl let alone what I did for this one. She'll never get me back after saying I'm a waste of time. More importantly to have the demonstrated lack of character to play games and/or call it off with someone via. text... doesn't even warrant any reply from me. Bishes thes days are rediculous: Attention whoring, playing games, and thinking they can find high quality men then dismiss them via text message. Not at all what I'm looking for.

Can already tell he's a thinker that's why he does better talking in person. He probably overanalyzes texts like crazy and it really gets to him so he prefers to talk in person.
I think what you're doing is causing him lots of psychological harm. Just be nice, you can still let him chase you by responding to his texts/calls just dont put out right away.

Sometimes he'll take hours or days to reply or always randomly text me saying something totally random. I get busy too, so sometimes I can't reply right away.

This is 2016, people constantly have their phone with them. Acting like they can't take 30 seconds to look at and respond to texts is laughable. ****ing LAUGHABLE. If either of you were truly interested in the other there wouldn't be huge dry spells between texts.
