You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

I would. Four hour drives are no big deal.

how do you like that leg ext/curl plate loaded bench? I looked at that at one point but I kinda shy away from non-adjustable benches since they don't seem like they'd work optimally for all bodies. I ended up buying a bodysolid version of it many years ago because the leg pads both had cam adjustments. I loved it at first but the thing was so flimsy I bent the hell out of it and now my ghd is the only way I have to do bent leg ham work.

I like it. Its rock solid. You can load it up no problem. I also looked around at options before I bought it. No way I could fit a huge selectorized commercial unit in my gym. SO I opted for the Legend. the footprint is relatively small and is built very well. I was hesitant too because the foot pad areas are not adjustable but its been no problem for me ( I'm 6ft.). I imagine if you are much shorter or much taller it might be. but there is plenty of wiggle room to move your body forward or backwards to make up for some of it. Of course anything not selectorized, without constant tension, you have to focus a bit more on the contraction part of the exercise. hope this helps. I know the leg curl & leg extension aren't the most vital exercises- but its a nice piece to have around.

yeah cool, I'm 6ft too so maybe it could be an option. I hate leg extentions but that's how I busted my bodysolid, it had a little skinny rod (standard weight size) that just couldn't hold the weight I would put on it, bent almost straight down and became unusable. I tried different clips and clamps to hold weight on it and tried bending it back but nothing worked long term, it's a piece of crap unless you don't like to lift heavy I suppose. I do miss doing leg curls though bigtime.

I have that bodysolid glce365 unit and it is really for low residential use. The pads on mine are in bad shape even if i train legs 1-2 times a week and i am the only person using it. I have bought it because i wanted a leg extension prone leg curl but i really should have waited for something better. Now it is in my garage in pieces because I have found a used bodysolid commercial selectorized leg ext/seated leg curls, it is a lot better in quality but i hate seated leg curls. A few months ago i almost have bought that Legend leg curl leg extension Grump owns but i backed off. What i hate with plate loaded units like the bodysolid or the legend is that you loose tension on the top of the movement on leg curls which is the same for both the bodysolid or the legend units!

OK, so a #3133 is on my short list of racks, but tell me, Legend aficionados, what swung your opinion towards these guys?
Why should I go with their temple of 3x3 steel and chrome over anyone else's in the $1k-1.5k range?

For me, it was the six weight horns per side, no need to bolt down the rack, and the customization options. And the reputation of the company.

Wow - there is some gorgeous equipment in this thread. Has anybody tried the Legend Multi-Press? I can pick one up at a real good price, just not sure if it's worth the trouble. I would do some isolation work on it - but it would really be more for the wife and friends. I'm having a hard time finding any kind of review on it.

I'm definitely leaning towards it - but it's a lot of room to take up if it's not a good piece. Then again, I can probably flip it if I don't end up liking it. Seems odd that I can't find any reviews or demo's of it online (then again - with a $2,200 price tag, maybe they don't sell many).

I have to say, the more I look at Legend installs, the more it's growing on me. Those J-hooks, even the "middle of the line" Performance ones, are serious business. And the color choices for customization are tempting.
What's up with those darned bright-yellow pop-pins, though? Ruining the whole Feng Shui, Legend, really...
Oh, well. Off to run 10K and wonder how to blow a paycheck or two.
