2 sets isn't going to do a whole lot, it needs to hit that point of overload multiple times. The more times you reach that point, the more the muscle is worked. However, there is a point where it becomes too much, and no longer does any good, so there is a sweet spot to look for. This spot changes as your body adjusts, so when it does - you must fight that adjustment with change of some sort. Volume, weight, exercises, order of your routine, days done, etc. Strength routines like stronglifts will help your bodybuilding ones tremendously, when you come up and find you have a lot more weight you can handle - you can expect great results if combined. However, even alternating them back and forth - still keep in mind that the body will eventually remember the schedule and adjust to it if it isn't rearranged every so often.
