See the last thread.
It doesn't belong here, period.
If it continues I'll start deleting those posts. Take it to the fantasy sports subforum. Create a thread. Discuss it all you like.
As I said, I have no issue with discussing sport. It's the fantasy side of it which is a borefest for anyone not signed up to your league.
For example, no one cared for tennis discussion so I took it to a Misc. thread that was created for it. Ditto for photography. If someone started using this thread as a lifting journal you'd tell them to start a journal in the workouts section. Fantasy talk is no different.
If you can convince Vox and Frep to allow it then I'll STFU and ignore it. Until then it belongs in another forum.

The difference is there are 12 people, all bb.com members, and in theory all ranters, who are all in the league. It's a RANT league, as in, it is literally a league populated by Ranters.
There is a "gaming and technology" sub forum...there is a "music" sub forum...there is an "automotive and motorsport" sub forum..."education/career/finance"..."religion and politics"..."sports"...I suppose none of those belong here?
brb reporting off topic posts if it's about a game, phone, music, cars, sports, career, finance, education, politics, religion, if I personally find it boring
Thank god there isn't a subforum about guns eh? hehe

Maybe. Then we'll just close it and call it a day. We'll see.
"I suppose none of those belong here"
I knew you'd take it to the extreme to make a point but there is a difference.
For example if Kvk posts something about F1, you're free to Google it, read the news, click on a video, etc. if you're interested, or just skim over it. Ditto if you post something about guns. I can look it up.
That's not the case with the fantasy football stuff. Unless you're playing along in that closed group, those posts will be like spam.
If Vox and I were discussing the contents of a private email here, back and forth for pages on end, you'd feel compelled to say "can you take this sh!t elsewhere?"
If you can't see the difference then there's no point discussing this any further.
As for guns, there is a chat thread in Misc. That's better than nothing.

Your example lists two people, why not an example with 12 people, all from the Rant?
I can certainly make sure the league is publicly viewable if that's your hangup, I don't know if it was in prior seasons, but the intent certainly isn't for it to be "private" that you are not privy to.
I don't think I have ever been compelled to tell anybody to take their own discussion anywhere. Maybe if two people started a pages long discussion in my lifting journal I would have asked them to leave, but other than that...IDGAF if you talk about tennis or F1 or DOTA till the cows come home amongst yourselves in this off topic chat thread.
Plus it's been dead as a doorknob in here anyway (do people still use that phrase?)

For 8 years I've been the weakest of weak sauce as a mod. I never neg. I rarely ban. I haven't dictated what can be discussed here. I personally haven't had a problem with FF discussion.
However the last thread quickly went down the sh*tter and stayed there and that's currently serving as a reminder for me.
Anyway, Vox and Frep can disagree with this and I'll STFU and GTFO. It's not my way or the highway. However for now I'd prefer to keep it to a minimum. If no one returns then by all means spam it up until it dies in the ass.

Actually, it's not the FF football discussion by itself that made the thread boring. It was that the ONLY thing discussed at times was FF. That's not so much the FF folks' fault, it was just that there was nobody discussing anything else. Yeah, at times the FF stuff was over the top and I do think it sometimes drown out what little other conversation was going on.
The primary issue is that most of the old time Ranters have gone, and they've not been replaced by anyone with anything to say. No snarky D1 posts, rarely any Shoup food-porn, no Turco misdirected text messages, and Kvk gave up on coffee shop girls in favor of congressional meeting minutes.
It is what it is.☠ By reading this post, you have agreed to my negative reputation terms of service.

I am not into photography nor tennis, but I personally never had an issue with you guys discussing it in here. TBH, I enjoyed it, even though the subjects might bore me. It exposed me to stuff I otherwise would not have seen.
Not pointing blame at anyone in particular, but I think that might have been our downfall. It used to be a free fall with posting and then perhaps we all started to worry if what we were posting would be wanted or viewed negatively, etc.
Wow... list is bigger than I expected.-

I need to get some pics of my finished home gym up. I'm actually not unproud of it. I can get pretty much everything done I need to / want to... although that doesn't mean I actually do those things... such as legs and other exercises that suck.
Is Texas full open carry now?
+ Lawls at that writer. His lack of bias is his most admirable trait when reading his work.
Farles knows about it. he posts (or did) in there regularly. Used to have MFC (Misc Firearm Crew) in his sig. He was just being contrarian to Dom since we discuss firearms in here, although there is a subforum for it.-
